"And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein.
And i will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and i will hear them: I will say, it is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God." -Zechariah 13:8-9

What i understand in this verse is that, God will train, test us to mold us into the people He wants us to be, in making us a true Christian- rooted and established in our faith in our Lord Jesus Christ.
As silver is refined and gold is tried... We will go thru fire. The word refined & tried are 2 important words. With refined, God will take out the unnecessary things in our lives today until we are shaped in the way God wants us to be... He will then test us... To try us if indeed we are formed in the right way.

God will refined and test us in a lot of different ways...thru the struggles that He has allowed us to be in. Those struggles, problems, troubles/ tribulations, & the pain in this life are the fire that will refine and try us, up until we are who we are in Christ Jesus. It could be losing the one we love, being brokenhearted, being wounded, mistreated, mocked, raped, get beaten up, neglected, misunderstood, experience accidents or any disasters-flood, fire, earthquake, etc... The list goes on.

By accepting those struggles and not running away from them rather facing our battles with boldness and faith in God we are allowing God to change and form us in the way He wanted us to be... To be His people!

How great it would be to call God knowing He hears you...and claim you as His own people! To be called by God, 'MINE.' And to call Him, 'MY GOD.'

We already know that once we have accepted Jesus as our Lord & Savior, God will call us His own, even His children and that we get to call Him 'my God', even Father but the thought that God will personally call you mine and that you could hear His voice and to be able to face Him and say, 'MY GOD'. It will be a dream come true, my heart's desire as a Christian.

To claim God as our God and Him calling us His people, means we have overcome all the struggles in this life for God's greater glory! Either we die defending, honoring & giving Him all the glory He deserve or alive & fighting, enduring, & persevering all the battles during our lifetime, all for His renown and honor... As Paul said, 'to live is Christ and to die is gain'. That should be our motto as a christian, right? It should be.
