"Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised." -Proverbs 31:30

What is the implication of this verse?

This is not just for the women out there... this is also true to the men, for everyone.

Living is not about what we see rather what is in the heart.

We often treat people differently and we most of the time group people base on what we see- in the standard the world has laid down, which is wrong. There are standard presented to all people, and we view people base on that standard and then treat them accordingly base on how we see them... are they rich? Pretty/ good to look upon? Or are they nice/good people? Are they sociable/ easy to get along with?

If they were rich or pretty it is either we want to be closer to them because they are popular or we want to approach but shy to do so. And if they are not we most likely don't think about then or end up talking about their misfortune- which is obviously a wrong thing to do. Just wicked. That is just to say a few because the list can go on. Man oftentimes respect base on social standing. People can be disrespectful to those they value less or deemed unworthy and respect those in the high ranking.

We treat people base on how we see them. But it is not to be done because more than anything else God values what is in the heart and not on the things a person possess.

"But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart." -1 Samuel 16:7

It is not just about what is unseen, but more of something that goes in the heart that will remain and what God seek for in man.

And so may we value the things that will nurture us spiritually... the things that the devil can't take away from us... storing treasures in heaven... like love, peace, hope, joy and life. And in what we store in our hearts may we give it to one another for God's greater glory!

Note that the term 'feareth the Lord' here is talking about doing God's will and command/ doing the things that pleases God, fearing God is respecting God. Those people who does it are truly worthy of praise because it is a manifestation to the world that God is working  in their lives.

To God be the glory!
