"I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have given me life." -Psalm 119:93 ESV
We have been given life thru God's commandments, thru His Word.
"We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning, whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life. This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life." -1 John 1: 1-2
You know who is being talked about right? Jesus Christ. In the beginning was the Word, the Word was with God and the Word was God and the Word became flesh and dwelt among us (John 1:1,14).
"Jesus said to him, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." -John 14:6
Our life is in the Word of God, in Jesus... that reason alone is enough for us to never forget His Word.
It was the same reason why Peter continued to follow Jesus:
"So Jesus said to the twelve, "You do not want to go away also, do you?" Simon Peter answered Him, "Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life." -John 6:68
If we continue with our faith, we are wise indeed to chose heaven over hell. God has given us an option to have life when we all deserve death. Who are we to argue with the kind of salvation God has prepared us? To never forget His Word is the only way we can have life.
What does it mean to never forget?
This is not just about knowing, because the human mind tend to forget the things they don't usually do or say in a daily basis... We are able to keep the memory or keep God's Word in our lives, my living it out every single day of our lives. And not missing one out. That is also living your faith, living the Word of God... knowing and doing the Word of God every day! That is the only way we can live today and forever.
To God be the glory!
