"While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal." -2 Corinthians 4:18

Christians are to value more the things unseen than those things we see because of their future weight. The seen or physical are temporal things... one day they will eventually be gone while the unseen or the spiritual things are eternal, when everything else disappear they will remain.
In this world, we value more those things we do not see for those are the things that will remain... but spiritual things are divided into 2 the good and evil, we have- love, kindness, peace, joy, confidence, patience, but there's also fear, hatred, sorrow, rudeness... and so be careful what you will sow in your life. Those are things we do not see with our eyes, only the expression of such not like how we see a cup, table, hair, necklace, car or our body...

I believe this verse gives us a warning to be observant and keen about what is happening the spiritual realm. Those things we do not see are the most important... What we see with our eyes are only the manifestation of spirits that dwell in a particular place or person. As they say, 'Love the sinner, hate the sin',... what's with that statement? You see the person was only able to commit the sin because of the evil spirit that has entered him/her. So if that spirit is not present in a person or some place then it will not be seen like a corruption in the country, or gambling in a particular area, even in a broken family... what you see is what the manifestation of the spirit that dwells therein. If we don't know the enemy how can we fight back?! It's hard to go head to head with someone you don't know or haven't see, right?

As a Christian may we be able to discern the spirit that is roaming around our life, we are in a spiritual battle, it may not sound good to you but that's reality... We are to stop those evil spirit with the Spirit God has given us. The Holy Spirit is our help, our guide from God. Without the Holy Spirit we are nothing. We amount to nothing because the Holy Spirit is our seal from God.

We see things differently and if there anything we value in this life, that will be the Word of God. Heaven and earth will fade but my Word will never fade (Mark 13:31). The Word of God holds an eternal weight of glory.
Every Christian holds the Word of God in their heart for this is our weapon to fight against the enemy of this world remember we are in a spiritual battle here on earth. To know the value of the things in this world is part of our battle to distinguished and identify our enemy. All we need is the Bible for wisdom and to prepare us. Hold on to His Word, because that is the only thing in this world that fade not.
To God be the glory!
