"Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in His statutes, and to keep His commandqment, as at this day." -1 Kings 8:61
Have you ever asked God, how can we be perfect in our heart and in His sight? Have you?
The word perfect struck me... The thought that I can be perfect... To be honest i am confuse... Can we really be perfect?
The Bible states that we should make our hearts perfect with our Lord God and it provided us how to do just that. Great indeed is our Lord by not only telling us what He wants but also guiding us how to achieve it!
We are created in God's image and likeness (Gen. 1:26) and for sure this doesn't talk about our physical aspect because God is Spirit and truth... This is about those things we don't see...those what is in our hearts.
Making our hearts one with our creator is easy just 2 things the Scripture mentioned (1) "...to walk in His statutes..." that is living in His Word. Applying what we understand and believe in. To walk our faith, to walk with God in this journey we call life. And to continue to walk in His Word no matter how many hurdles and distractions the world has to offer. Do not conform with them be who you are in Christ Jesus and not base on any other identity but Jesus only. (2) "...to keep His commandment." Though you might think this is also about walking our faith, yes it is but this time our focus is about obeying God 'to keep' is 'to obey'. To do what He has told us to do without murmuring/complaining and just doing it because God says so. If we keep God's command we are in a way walking in His statutes because i believe and i value God's commands as laws, and if law then it should be taken cared of... should be implemented not neglected nor rejected for surely you will be punish base on your works.
And those 2 things God want us to do for our hearts to become perfect with Him, we need faith because without it we can never move along in this life ending up walking towards our deathbed and damnation and only thru faith we can activate God in our lives.
To God be the glory!
