"Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God." -Daniel 6:23 KJV
'...no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.' That statement made me think about what kind of faith does Daniel have for God to sent His angel to shut the mouths of the lions that they may not hurt him (verse 22).
You see Daniel was well favored by the king and most especially by God and so there were people against him, pride and envy took over those people and so they sin by trying to find a fault in Daniel yet they find none against him but they didn't give up that easily... since they can't find a hole in Daniel and so they made one and this time they prevail because it was concerning faith, not allowing anyone to pray and worship any God or man... guess what happened?!
"Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did aforetime." -Daniel 6:10
Take note on that word 'aforetime'... He prayed in the same manner he had always prayed to God. If there was such law in today's generation we would have probably prayed hidden not like Daniel, we haven't even prayed the same way Daniel prayed without such law how much more if there was such law?!
Do you know why Daniel was without a hurt during his time in the lions den?
His faith wasn't subject to anything, His faith was firm in the Lord. God is his priority if it wasn't he wouldn't have prayed the moment he knew King Darius signed such law with his windows open and him kneeled to the ground! Nothing matters to him not even his life, but God's glory and honor alone. Christians ought to live the same way, ...i mean we are called to live a life glorifying and honoring God with our life, right? That's our main purpose in this life and in the life everlasting.
Does your neighbor know you are a born again Christian? Or do you usually close your doors when you worship God? Or do you shut your mouth when you pray? Does the world recognize you as a child of God? If not then, what is the difference between you and the unbeliever?
You faith requires works, you know otherwise its dead. And because of what He believed and what He did because of His faith, God delivered him from the lions, to make known to his enemies the God he is serving and in the end those people who were against him including their families were placed in the lions den and the lion did broke their bones into pieces (verse 24).
After what happened to Daniel's enemies God made known to everyone who He was, as King Darius wrote:
"I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion shall endure to the end." -Daniel 6:26
Not only did God took care of Daniel's enemy, not only did He made known Himself but He also prospered Daniel in the foreign land.
And so i say to you, what He did for Daniel He will do it in your life today because the God we are serving He changed not (Malachi. 3:6) and Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8). All we need to desire and possess is the kind of faith Daniel have... That is the kind of faith that saves, that delivers. By God's grace He will supply all your needs according to His riches and glory in Christ Jesus, just ask Him to increase your faith and to study and meditate on His Word... His Spirit will lead you to that kind of faith in God.
Believe that He will and He can save you from your enemies, He will make known to everyone that He is God and He is with you and surely He will prosper you wherever you are as long as you are in the Way He has prepared you to be.
To God be the glory!
