"Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left." -Joshua 23:6
What do we need for us to be able to keep and do the Word of God?
COURAGE. Yes, as mentioned... not just courageous but be very courageous.
This is to say that keeping and doing God's Word is not for the faint in heart but rather for those brave ones. And so, as a Christian we ought to be fearless. Why? I quote, '...that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left.'
It takes courage to stand for the Lord because people who are fearful are easily shaken and they can't stand on anything. They get easily swayed by circumstances, by struggles, by the world and by anything because they are scared by nature. Fear keeps us from God, from our purpose, from our God given destiny. It will make us to settle in the safe zone we know but in reality isn't safe rather death leading way... for there's only one way to life, eternal life and that way is narrow and not everyone finds it and most of the time that way has certain struggles and suffering yet that way leads to life everlasting and so it is worth it. The road to heaven isn't a smooth, straight and wide way rather its rough, curvy & narrow and its the only way to life. That is why many times God has told us in His Word to be courageous and to fear nothing but Him that's the only way we can withstand the enemies, satan, the world and even our flesh.
Only those brave can be able to live out his faith for the world to see, they are not afraid of the world, of the calamities/struggles and of the future.
A true Christian doesn't back down and give up each time he falls, rather he intends to get back up by God's grace and move forward in life. Setbacks means an opportunity for him to stand for the Lord... because He is courageous. He can't be move as he stand firm and hold on to his God.
To God be the glory!
