"But Jesus said unto him, Follow Me; and let the dead bury their dead." -Matthew 8:22Those who has receive their life must go and follow the who has given them life.
It is like, those save must go and do the works of saved people... and shouldn't associate themselves of the works of the unsave, in this case the dead.
The dead cannot do the works of the living but when the living does the things of the dead... Was he really alive? Maybe he wasn't alive in the first place. Well, the only way the dead can perform the works of the living is if he comes back to life... and the only way he can be alive is thru believing the One who died for us to live, Jesus Christ.
" I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life." -1 John 5:13
The only way we can have that life, if we follow Him... 'Follow Me', Jesus said to man. The first step we need to take in order for us to follow Him is to believe in Him because it is thru faith we can have the everlasting life God has promised (Read John 3:16).
Once we have trust God and have claim the salvation He has given us, we are His people and a part of His growing family. We are then alive because of Him, the One who died for us. What differentiates the living from the dead is their renewed mind, the living have set their minds with the heavenly things, and do God's will and command, those who are alive in Christ can do these things... the dead are busy with the dead's activity that will ultimately lead them to their destruction, hell... that is why we are set to do our Heavenly Father's business in saving lives and restoring the life of the dead thru preaching the Word of God, who is Jesus Christ Himself... for He is the way, the truth and the life.
Though the dead is busy with the worldly things, the dead's business... we Christians are into saving those dead for Jesus, doing the things of the living. He has called us to do that.If you are truly alive in Christ, what are you doing with the life He has entrusted you?
To God be the glory!
