"For the Lord will not forsake His people for His great name's sake: because it hath pleased the Lord to make you His people." -1 Samuel 12:22In our relationship with God, if there is someone who leaves, it is us, not God. He will never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrew 13:5), He mentioned it in the Scripture.
Two things are being presented in this verse why God won't leave us.
One. For His great name's sake.
Because of our God... for He is faithful, merciful and He is love. He can't deny who He is. That is just who He is, those facts about Him can never be changed. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. He is true to who He is.Two. It pleases the Lord.
Because it pleases the Lord to call us His own... though God doesn't need us, He wants us. Isn't it amazing, our God, Creator of heaven and earth, is please with us?
God takes pleasure being with us because He loves us. Well, i guess when you love someone... you just want to be with them. You find joy in the company of your loved ones. That is how God is towards us.Serving God or in living out your faith, is a manifestation to the world that we love God and we get joy and peace out of it, in knowing and believing in His Word.
To God be the glory!
