"And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encourage himself in the Lord his God." -1 Samuel 30:6

We all get weak and faint...feeling hopeless or depress but do you know who else can help you aside from God...

Do you?

Yourself! You see, David pick himself up looking unto God. He encourage himself. When the people wanted to stone him, all he had was himself and he decided not to give up on himself because of God. Not that he believes more of himself than God but the reverse of it... He believes in God so much that he believes he can make it thru because he knows God is with him every step of the way.

We will win every battle if only we choose to believe in God. The turning point there is if we choose to believe. We first make a decision and base on that decision we make God will either make a move or not.

Faith activates God and fear activates the enemy (Joel Osten mentioned it). Base on your decision, who do you want to take over God or the enemy. If we were in a movie the forces of darkness versus the forces of light... The ending is already been determined, the evil one and his people will be thrown to the lake of fire...they will die. And the Holy One will win the battle with His people...and they will live forever with Him.

And in this verse David chose to believe in God, (Read 1 Sam. 30:8-9)

Do you think He did the right thing?

He did the right thing! Why? Because all the things and the people that were taken from them, they recovered them all. (Read 1 Samuel 30:18-19)

He told himself that all is well and that everything is going to be fine and that everything is for the good and so he prayed to God after he encourage himself (read verse 8) and God answered him and it all came to pass...because whatever God says it will come to pass. They recovered it all and defeated their enemies and took their spoil.

Victorious.

They were victorious because of their God and it all started after David took the decision to stand firm in His God, He believed.

I pray that we get inspired by this verse that each time we fall believe that God will uphold us and carry us thru it all. It all starts at the point where you believe...at the point where you decide to pick yourself up because you believe God has it all under control. Because if you don't believe how can God intervene.

David during his time was a conqueror, because in every decision He made sure God has a say and that everything is under God's will and command and he was indeed victorious.

As a christian we should look at the lives of those who believe in God and be assured that God will work in our lives as well. Because the same Spirit that raise Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit that dwells in us, surely God will raise us up and He won't allow us to fall. (Read Romans 8:11) But the effectiveness of all that is base on our faith!

To God be the glory!
