"I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us." -Philippians 3:14 NLT

Pressing on to reach the end is working to fulfill your life's purpose, your purpose in Christ Jesus. It will be the end of the race once we have fulfill what we were ordain to do before the day we were even born.

There are two things i'd like to clarify here,
1st, 'i press on to reach the end of the race...' the statement Paul said.
I press on would also mean 'i work to reach the end of the race' that is the Christian race. Some of you might say, 'work?', i thought we were saved by grace thru faith?! Yes! We need to have works. Faith without such is dead. How can you have such dead faith for a living God?!
I'd like to be clear that though it is said that we should work it out, we are still saved by grace... why? The grace of God is not just pardon, it is also power. The Holy Spirit that dwells in every believers enables them to work for God's cause... and so it is not them who the does the good works but it is Christ thru them. We are just an instrument that Jesus plays with to form a melody or music.
Works are essential to every believer because it is a manifestation that they are indeed saved people. Pressing on is doing those good works, showing those works for the world to see, for God to be glorified.

2nd point is that how important it is for us to reach the end of the race and for us to recieve the heavenly prize. What is the heavenly prize? Christian has varied answer to this but the point thereof is one, some would say eternal life, be in heaven, salvation, crown of life, etc... but i have to say mine would be, being with God forever and just glorify Him in His holy presence and be in awe of His supreme beauty and majesty.
If we are to press on it means we can reach the end thus finishing the race in which God has place us, because life on earth is a race and only those who finish can be with God, so not only do you finish the said race of life, you will also receive the reward, heavenly i have to say... that God has prepared for those who will finish the race He has set before us, because not all can finish such and there will be others who doesn't like to run or other going to the wrong direction.

Like a said earlier, keep pressing on of what God has called you to do thru Christ Jesus, though we will not be perfect in doing so but in trying our best to fulfill it and by not giving up is the best we can do for Jesus because in His 2nd coming, in that day we will be made perfect... He has to do the finish touch Himself, He is the finisher of our faith not us, He is the one to push us and enable us to finish race here on earth and we will be glorious in that day with the most glorious God. And so just press on in doing your purpose and God will do the rest.
