"Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice." -Philippians 4:4

Just to be clear this is a command. God is commanding us to rejoice always... in Him.

The stress in this verse lies in the word 'always' which also means forever and all the time. Given that word being attached in this verse, God is saying that we are to rejoice in Him in every circumstances- good times & the bad.

It is easy to comply with such command during good times, in times of plenty. We can easy praise God & thank Him for the blessing we have received but the question is, Can we still praise, thank, or rejoice in Him in times of struggles or persecution? That is the big question, we might say 'Yes. I would.'... but the to do it part is a challenge. It will be hard to rejoice in times of trouble but in those times God will be all the more glorified in the sight of the world. I believe it is possible to do God's command if and only if we have faith in Him that is the essential part for without faith it is impossible to please God.

To be able to rejoice in times of struggles and persecution is a sign of a mature christian, someone who has a renewed mind... because thru the renewal of our minds we can then see things in a different perspective.

In times of downfall, we see a path of promotion ahead.

In times of sorrow, we see joy on the way.

In times of sickness, we see healing/restoration in the near future.

In short, we see miracles in every battles we face thru Christ Jesus those miracles lead us in triumph.

The assurance that God has given us that He will save us and that we are victorious in all our battles in this world is that the fact that Jesus rose again on the 3rd day defeating death in the process. Knowing & believing in that truth will eventually lead us to rejoice in our God, in who He is & in what He has done for us.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God..." -Romans 8:28

Trusting in God & letting go of ourselves changes the story of our lives. As we rely unto God and knowing what He is capable of doing- the impossibilities He can do & that nothing is hard for Him. If we truly know the God we are serving, rejoicing in Him would be so easy and something we love to do.

To God be the glory!
