"Then Paul answered, what means ye to weep and to break mine heart? For i am ready not to be bound only but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus." -Acts 21:13

To willingly die for Christ Jesus means we are willing to do everything for Him, whatever the cost will be.

The question is, Are we such Christian in today's generation?

Would you die for Jesus?

To be able to answer such questions with 'yes, i would.' requires a great faith...really great faith grounded in Jesus Christ.

To some, to answer such questions are hard and to others, the 'to do it' part is another story.

Paul's life should be an inspiration to us because for once he was an unbeliever like us... He even considered himself the chief of the sinners because before He encountered Jesus his work was to persecute christians/believers but then his story changed and God used him for His greater glory. And he did not disappoint God.

To willingly die for God is the greatest thing we can ever do to Him. Not that we kill ourselves rather to live for Him every single day even if we die trying to fight all our battles for His glory!

To some it may be to preach God's Word in the remote area or working your best in whatever field for God's glory, etc... A pastor shared a testimony about a new convert and his friend how they were being beaten because of their faith in Jesus, his friend died while he barely escaped & survived but with that experience he did not turn away from God rather all the more grew in his faith in God. If it was you, what would you do? Seeing your friend die in front of you and you being all worn out, the point that you almost died... What would you do? Renounce your faith?
'To live is Christ and to die is gain.' That's what Paul believe and He is standing firm in that! Because he sees something beyond what meets the eyes... Looking unto the reward rather than the temporal pleasures of this world, knowing & believing the reward in store for us, believers.

With this verse, he is stating that he is prepared for anything even death - the worst possible thing that could happen to us and one we fear most, death... He has set his mind, 'to die is gain.' Why? Because i believe he is confident in Who & What he believes in... That's why he isn't afraid in what will happen with his body because our flesh is only temporal, he isn't afraid because he knows that his soul is safe in Christ Jesus.

To God be the glory!
