"Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them." -Psalm 119:165 KJV
We get peace, great peace in loving God's law.
How so? In loving God's law or Word would mean we have kept His Word in us, living His Word in our lives therefore avoiding sin,or turning away from sin. know that we sin by preferring anything other than God, loving God's Word means we prefer it over anything the world has to offer. We must be aware that the existence of sin in our lives will lead us to our destruction, for the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23), knowing that makes our lives miserable, our life will be in chaos.
Keeping the Word of God or God's law in our lives would mean that the Holy Spirit is in us, because we can't do the things can commanded us to do without His Spirit in us, remember that we are saved by grace not by our own works, it is by God's grace we are able to keep His Word and to live in it and by it through the help of the Holy Spirit. And peace is a fruit of the Spirit, who dwells in us.
Believers are expected to love God's law, to keep His Word and that is why Christians are peaceful kind of people despite the circumstances they are in because they know what God has promised for them, that though people in there lives come and go... they still have peace for they know the truth that God will never leave them nor forsake them. Though life on earth has a lot of struggles they still have peace for God has assured them thru His Word that those who call upon His name will be saved. Though we get sick and wounded, we still have peace because we believe in Him who was wounded for our healing, 'by His stripes we are healed.' We have peace because we get a chance to live because He died for us, to give us an eternal life. God has promised us all that, and we will get to make use of those promises, if we keep His Word, love His law.
To God be the glory!
