"And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of the Lord their God one fourth part a day; and another fourth part they confessed, and worshipped the Lord their God." -Nehemiah 9:3

This verse is a reminder for us, Christian... God is reminding us of what we ought to do in this life,
One. To read His Word.
This is really essential for us, believers. For our growth, ...to grow old in the Lord is to read His Word all our life. This is for our own good to increase our faith, since faith comes from hearing the Word of God (Romans 10:17) and once our faith has grown many miracles and blessings will come upon us. By our reading and understanding the Word of God helps us in abiding the Word of God, if we have place the Word of God in our hearts we can then ask anything in the name of our Lord.
Two. Confessed Jesus Christ.
When we finally understood the Word we can easily confess Jesus is our Lord and our Saviour in words and deeds. Confessing Jesus is the work pf our faith. Being a true believer you don't do nothing the moment you believe, your faith in God will bear fruits, good fruits beause your works are always guided by the Holy Spirit, the Comforter whom we receive thru our faith in Jesus Christ. A true Christian lives out His faith in the World.
Three. Worship God.
A believer worship the Lord every minute, every hour and everyday of His life. Worship is not a song or about singing a song, rather it is a way of life. Everything we do in this life can be a worship if we dedicate it to the Lord and live our life for Him alone... for His glory and honor. That is how we ought to live our lives as a Christian, worshipping God.

During the days of Nehemiah, it is amazing to know how they lived their lives for 6 hours they read God's law, and the next 6 hours confessing about their faith... their lives is a manifestation of worship to the Most High God. The only thing they ever did was worship God.
Our lives should revolve around God for without Him we are dead, without Him we would have not existed in the first place, He deserves our whole self not just a part of us. God is not in need of part-time worshipper, He is in need of full-time worshipper. We are to offer our lives, as a child of God, as a living sacrifice. That is what we ought to do but be reminded also that there is a negative thing about a living sacrifice it was mentioned by Rick Warren,
'The problem with a living sacrifice is that it can choose to crawl off the altar. We do this all the time.'
With that being said and so we must remind ourselves and intentionally we should seek God that is why we should do what we ought to do those three things mentioned.

(Regarding Neh. 9:3) This happened in the past, i believe it can be possible in today's generation, where everyone would read the Word of God, confess Jesus as Lord and Saviour and worship the Lord God all our life. We are in need of such believers today and God seeks such believers, not just church goers rather doers of faith.
I pray to God we be that Christian God seeks.
To God be the glory!
