Word of God: Psalm 51:10-12Sin makes us filthy, unworthy and importantly it separates us from God.
This verse has presented three things that will depart from us if we continue to sin:
One. God's presence.
"But your iniquities have separated between you and your God and your sins have hid His face from you, that He will not hear." -Isaiah 59:2
We are cast out from God's holy presence because of our sins, simply because God can never have fellowship with sinners- unholy people because God is holy.
Sin hinders us from getting close to God. I mean how can a sin that leads to death go together with a God, who is the Author of life.Two. The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is our seal from God. And the fruits of the Holy Spirit leads us into doing good works and if we sin, we make the Holy Spirit's work in us vain.
"...walk in the Spirit and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh." -Galatians 5:18
With that being said if we have fulfil the lust of the flesh then we are not walking in the Spirit.
When God departs from us, the Holy Spirit goes with God, after all the Holy Spirit is of God. And if we do nothing with it then our flesh will take over.Three. The joy of our salvation.
Once the Holy Spirit depart from us the joy of our salvation will depart as well.
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also, after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise." -Ephesians 1: 13
The Holy Spirit is our ticket to heaven. Once the Spirit depart from us then our joy will follow. The joy will be replace with grieve.Psalm 51 has indeed inform and warns us about what will happen to us if we fail God, that is if and when we sin. But it also has inform us how we can get back to God thru God's help.
'Create in me a clean heart, O God and renew a right spirit within me...'
We need a clean heart and to be able to obtain one is only possible thru God.
Only God can clean us from all unrighteousness thru faith in Jesus Christ. I mentioned that we can get back to God thru God's help... His only begotten Son is His only way of saving us, of helping us out.
How? By His blood.
"In whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins..." -Colossians 1:14
What Jesus did on the cross was a one time sacrifice for the sins of the world- past, present, & future sins.
What should we do to get back to God? Ask for forgiveness with all your heart, He will surely forgive you only if you confess to Him your sins (1 John 1:9).So, repent and live that is God's desire for His people. To repent is to renew your mind by not confroming to the world rather to conform only to God's ways and thinking. To live is to die in the flesh daily for Christ to live in you. Also it is living for the one who died for you on the cross, ...it is no longer you who lives but Christ lives in you.
Is that unfair? Ofcourse not! If there's anyone who knows us the best it is no other than our Creator, God Himself.
You know what's unfair? If we continue to live in the way we want because we are not our own but we are God's creation.
Life is a learning and growing process of our faith in Jesus Christ to whom all were saved, and by whom all were made and for Him everything was made.If you have done Him wrong, be on your knees and pray... ask for His forgiveness with all your heart and pray without ceasing. Don't worry our God is a loving and merciful God. He will forgive you only if you let your faith work.
Be also reminded that God's love is far more greater than any sin. If God seems so far remember the Scripture,
'Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.' -James 4:8To God be the glory!
