"What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's." -1 Corinthians 6: 19-20

'...ye are not your own...'

We don't own ourselves as some people claim it to be. We are God's for He created us. But not just with that reason. 'For ye are bought with a price...'

What was the price?

The price was the life of our Lord & Saviour. He died for you to live... and on the third day He rose again, giving us a hope, an assurance for our eternal life that it will surely come to pass in God's perfect time.

And since we don't own ourselves and that Jesus has paid our sins with His blood poured out for us, the last drop of which pave the way to His death for the life is in the blood. Knowing that God gave us life & that Jesus has redeemed us and has given us eternal life, we are to glorify God with our life- with our body & soul, '...which are God's.'
It does make sense, right? You wouldn't be living right now if God didn't intervene for your soul. He just can't close His eyes for the suffering of His beloved, the future suffering He knows will come to pass... He is indeed love. God is love. After all He has done for us we ought to give back the life He has given us by living our lives for His greater glory & renown. Jesus is the glory of God (Hebrews 1:3) and so praise His name & confess God's goodness thru Christ Jesus, His Son. The only way we can confess to the world Jesus, the Word of God (John 1:1, 14) is denying one's self and acknowledging God in everything in your life it is no longer about you its about Him. All for God's glory and honour.

To God be the glory!
