"Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place." -Psalm 66:12

As i read this, 2 important words come to mind. Hope & faith.

In all things that we exprience esp. during our darkest moments its important to see things full of hope and to believe in what we hope for because that is the only way we can be able to see tomorrow.

Hope & faith aside from love is an important factor in our lives, it keeps us moving forward in our journey in this life today.

Mentioned in the verse '...we went thru fire and water...' What does that mean? A fire that will consume you and a water that will drown you? There will be struggles in life, even death defying struggles that will drag us down unto the pit and eternal damnation... that is a possibility if and only if we can't see hope and in the process believing nothing but death.

Hopelessness, fear and other negative thoughts come to mind during struggles and i tell you those things are far more terrifying than any weapon form in this world because the person having such would want to end their lives and would make it happen. And its something you don't see and that scares me. Why? A person can be smiling today and the next day you saw her/him hang himself/herself.

We need to understand that tribulations are not there to bring us down or to defeat you... (I read that in Joel Osteen's book)

Rather to increase you in every aspect of your life and importantly for our spiritual advancement... And its just a matter of how you perceive things in this life because we all go through pain and sorrows...although differently. And in how we react while facing such problems is important to God. Are we going to run away from our problems or trust ourselves or other people or boldly ask God for help? But know that though there are a lot of possible solutions laid down in this world but believe only one solution that was being laid down for all of us to be saved... God only laid down one solution.

And in every battle we face and overcome there will be a promotion, a blessing, a healing, a miracle, & our salvation.

Those we can achieve only if we are able to overcome our struggles and the only way we can overcome is thru our faith in Christ Jesus, He is the solution God laid down for us. In God's Word we can claim victory over anything and everything the devil throws at us... We can overcome satan's lies with God's truth. We can overcome satan's trap/ misleading distractions by the way God has prepared for all of us and satan's death threats with the life God has given us...all these thru Christ Jesus - He is the way, the truth & the life. (John 14:6)

Its not really important if you die now or not, while facing your struggles... What is important is what you have in you... The hope you carry and the faith you possess. That hope has a name, and that faith points at a name... That name is Jesus. If you have Him, all is well.

And thru that hope we believe in, God will definitely bring us to a wealthy place, it may not be during our time here in the earth because that place is heaven. Heaven is indeed the wealthy place Jesus prepared for all of us. With no pain nor sickness. And we will be living in a mansion made up of precious stones. And there we will be able see God's face. It will be possible by God's grace thru Christ Jesus.

And so today as we hope and look unto Jesus, see all the trials in this life that God has allowed as mere temporal test that will ultimately bring us to God's greater glory...and with a cheerful heart see the struggles as an opportunity to glorify Him...for that is our main purpose, as we call ourselves followers of Christ.

Know that everything that is happening in our lives has a reason and God meant it for the good no matter how bad it may seem to be. Instead of questioning God, 'Why me? Of all people?, Why not ask yourself... 'What have you done for God?' after He has given you the life you have today...after Jesus died for you on the cross for you to have a hope, a salvation, and a heaven that you will soon call home.

What have you done for Jesus to deserve Him?

As you read through the following verses 13-16... The psalmist didn't just brought sacrifices and offering to God it says in verse 16,

"Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and i will declare what he hath done for my soul."

May we also declare God's overflowing goodness and love for saving us all thru His Son, Jesus Christ.

To God be the glory!
