" And let none of you imagine evil in your hearts against his neighbour; and love no false oath: for all these are things that I hate, saith the Lord." -Zachariah 8:17
It is what it suggest.
Two things God hates,
1. Imagining evil things towards our neighbour.
2. Love no false oath.
We, as christian, desire to please God for Him to notice us in a good way and if that is our desire we should therefore keep in mind what God loves & hates. That requires knowing & understanding the God we are serving, to know God is to go into His Word, the Bible.
To sum everything up, for us to not displease God we only need to know & understand one word and if we understand that word we ought to do it for God's greater glory and that word is- LOVE.
"Above all, keep loving one another earnestly, since love covers a multitude of sins." -1 Peter 4:8
Know also that God is love,
"He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love." -1 John 4:8
Like what is already been said, if we don't love others, it means we have not known God. Loving others is a proof that we are of God, if we are able to love all kinds of people- despite their imperfections/flaws because we were once like them. In the same way God did for us, He loved us even during our darkest moments in life,
"But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." -Romans 5:8
Because it doesn't matter how others treat you or mistreat you, you ought to love them... that is God's will & command love you enemies & pray for them (Matthew 5:44).
When there are people, who would try to bring you down, those who clearly hates you... if you were to respond them or do anything, God says to love them. And so we are to chose love, if they throw hate at you, throw love at them. I believe in the Scripture written in,
"Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good." -Romans 12:21
Because at the end of the day, it is not about who they are, its about who we are... We are christian, we are to follow Jesus... We are God's child as we claim we are and so act like one!
To God be the glory!
