Don't put anything before God. Spending time with Him is more important than anything else you're going to do. There's a story about two sisters welcoming Jesus into their home. One, Martha, was busy getting the house in order and preparing food. Mary, the other, just sat at Jesus' feet and listened to what He had to say. Martha got angry because she was doing all the work and finally said something Jesus answered her, "Only one thing is nesicary, Mary has chosen the better thing and it will not be taken away from her."
Even when we're trying to serve God it is best to just sit and spend time with Him. We don't always need to be doing something and there is much more to life than work. Our relationship with God needs to happen first and then serving Him.
