Believing is a really big part of the Bible especially in the gospel John. A lot of it says, believe and you will be saved, and similar phrases about the importance of believing in God and Jesus. Honestly for me believing has always been the hardest part of Christianity, that's sounds foolish but I could read the Bible and do good works but I would have trouble believing everything about God was true and that He existed. Sometimes I still have trouble with believing but my pastor went through a couple sermon series giving logical reasons to believe and whenever I struggle believing I remember those.
I don't think believing is just thinking that God's there. I think believing also comes with knowing and loving Him enough to do what He says because that shows you really believe what He says. Yes you will mess up but God forgives us and doesn't expect us to be perfect, He knows we will fall short and sin what matters is going back to Him after sinning. Belief is just as much about following up on what God says because you know they're true as it is believing Jesus is God.
