God is a good Father who loves us unconditionally without any strings attached. A problem with this is that fathers here range from not perfect to abusing or neglectful. So when we here God is our Father we think of our own imperfect fathers. God isn't like that, the rules He makes for us are for our own good, to make us happier or help us be better people. When we go down paths that lead to dark places He gets upset just like we get upset when our loved ones are hurting themselves. It hurts Him when we turn away from Him and the moment we go back and ask for forgiveness He will give it to you a rejoice. He wants us to love Him back, like we want the people we love to love us back.
God is the Father who will never leave you, who will always love you no matter how many times you mess up, He knows all your flaws but loves you anyway. God will never hurt you or say the wrong things to make more upset. He won't judge when you confide in Him and He understands you. God is our good Father.
