You aren't perfect and you will make mistakes. God knows it, I know it, and you probably know it too. You may have made a mistake that sent your life spiraling down. You could have made a big mistake and now see how that mistake led you to great places you couldn't have gotten without it. Or you may be someone who hasn't made a life changing mistake yet. No matter which category you fall in its important to recognize you will make mistakes and you don't know best for yourself. Don't judge yourself too harshly, know God loves you no matter how many mistakes you make. Own up to the mistakes you make if it hurt someone else then apologize to them and if it was serious then understand if they don't forgive right away. Forgiveness is hard for a lot of people and it's the last thing the world teaches you to do when someone upsets you. Give them time and know they might not ever forgive you but even if they don't God will and He's the one who's opinion of you matters. Everyone else is your equal but God is your King and every time you ask Him for forgiveness He will give it to you the first time instantly. You will still have to deal with the consequences of your actions but you've got a clean record according to God.
