You can study God for years and years, be able to quote a bunch of bible verses, witnesses to someone every day, but your aren't doing the most important things. God loves us, that's the whole point of Christianity. God loves us unconditionally and is always there for you. It's a bit more complicated then that but if you miss the unconditional love piece then you miss the point of Christianity and God. We get so focused on studying different parts of the Bible that we often forget what God was really about. Learning about the Bible and God isn't a bad thing, it's really good and we should all do more of t but only if we remember who God is at the simplest level. I often get so caught up with being a good person and acting a certain way that I lose track of my joy in God. I'll go through the motions day after day and I am happy through parts of it and I laugh but I hold myself back from getting too connected with a group, and all the joy I find in God when I focus on what He's done for me is gone.
