Don't let your happiness depend on another person. People make mistakes and are often out for only themselves, even if they aren't they will make you unhappy. Love people but don't let them be the cause of your joy. Joy can only come From God and He will never waver in providing it. Every day in whatever situation you face you can find joy if you turn your eyes onto God and what is good. Happiness however is an emotion, you feel happy at good times but when troubles come your happiness falls away. Happiness can come from anything for awhile but it won't last like joy from God.
God will fill you up with His joy and love if you just ask Him. God will always give you more than enough just like He is more than enough to fulfill you. Your joy overflows out of you and soaks into other people's lives. It may bring them closer to God or just help them on a hard day, but when someone around you is joyful it's harder to be grouchy and upset all the time.
