Devotions; Defeating the Destroyer

Peter said to think like a slave. Someone who isn't new to suffering someone who serves others with their life. Then he says think like a foreigner. Someone who doesn't have a home, someone who's in an unfamiliar with the land. Finally he says to think like a solider. Someone always ready for battle even though they don't know when the battle will come. We were slaves of sin before Jesus came and saved us. Now we should live our lives as servants of God and servants of others because that's how Jesus showed us how to live. We are foreigners in this world, our real home is Heaven. Things feel wrong because they aren't that way in Heaven. There is a battle happening inside of us all at this very moment, you will also have battles in your life that you can't face all alone. Some of you are probably going through hard battles right now, some of you have gone through a hard battle but there will be another one, some of you haven't gone through a hard battle yet but you will, all of us will. Be ready build your relationship with God because your relationship is the only thing that will make your battle easier.
