Devotions; Defeating the Destroyer

God is always in control and He always knows what's going on in your life and in your mind. But when you tell Him things and when you give up your control willingly it builds your trust in God. Giving up control to God is calming and reassuring. Give your worries and troubles to God but telling Him about them and surrendering your control. He always listens to you and He does respond. His response is different that what we imagine and sometimes we don't recognize it as His answer but He does respond. Talking to God is one of the best things you can do, it bring you closer to Him and when you tell Him about your troubles they don't seem as bad. You also need to listen to what God has to say. You can't pray then get up and start doing something else and then complain that God doesn't answer your prayers. Read the Bible to hear what He has to say and relax in quiet and just sit in His presence. It sounds easier than it is but every time your mind strays bring it back to God, for me it's best to visualize God's throne and that keeps my mind toward God but also open to what He is trying to tell me.
