There is a big difference between living your life as a servant for other people and living your life serving other people. However on the surface they look like relatively the same thing and it is very easy to try to do one and end up doing the other. When you live your life to serve other people you need their approval, you do whatever you to make them happy so hopefully they will like you. Your world revolves around them and you try to make everyone happy. When you live your life as a secant for people you help people who are in need, you don't need to be recognized for your actions because that's what you're supposed to do. You serve God and serve people because that's what He did. Living your life to serve others doesn't usually end well, you end up fake, lonely, and upset because you can't make everyone happy. Living a servant makes you kinder, more generous, and more grateful, you get to make positive impacts on people's lives that you can't get many ways other than being the kind of servant God wants us to be.
