You can't change people. If you hang out with a group of people or a friend and expect them to change the way they do their lives because of you then you really need to reconsider your plan. 99 out of 100 times they will change you, little by little you will start to do the things they do that you though should change. Yes you are the only piece of Jesus some people see and yes you are called to tell others about Jesus and one way of doing that is through your actions. That being said thinking your good influence will change a person or people is naive. I do this all the time and writing this is hard for me because even though I know it doesn't work part of me is still convinced that being around me will make someone act better. Time and time again I am reminded that I can't change people through my example and I still have a hard time learning it. You can tell them about God, you can show them how a Christian should live their lives, but you won't be able to change them.
