Devotions; Defeating the Destroyer

Day 48

Jesus looked down from Heaven, a place so perfect we can't imagine it, and He saw the world as messy and broken as it is with wars and bullies. He looked down and decided to go there to lost people living in darkness. So He opened up the fabric of time, because Heaven is outside of time and time doesn't happen there, and stepped into the world. A King came down as a baby born, not in the comforts of a castle or even a nice house but instead in a barn with smelly animals and dirt. He grew up and got sick, experienced pain, and lived with a good loving family. He had to work for His food until He started preaching about His Father not from earth when He was thirty. He ate with sinners and common people, He didn't live in comfort or get anything on earth from His ministry. People hated Him and some people loved Him. Until they day one of His best friends who had been inseparable for three years betrayed Him, He saw it coming but the betrayal still hurt. He was mocked and tortured even though He was an innocent man, He said nothing in His defense and let them beat up their King. They took Him out and killed Him in the most painful way they knew how as His mother and a few followers watched along with thousands insulting Him. Jesus came and took on the full mess of the world so that the people who killed Him could have forgiveness, life and be taken up with Him into perfection.
