Izuku's quirk is Cage Beam. It's an Emitter/Mutation type that allows Izuku to summon oval-esque balls of red plasma-like energy in roughly cage-like structures that have no top. I'll show two things that would count towards this since I'm horrible at explaining this apparently. [I've tried a few times and it was just confusing]

See how there are "bars" but no top? That's the requirement to be able to summon the energy.
Izuku can shoot energy beams from the oval, as well as create thrust to fly by forming and exploding said oval. He can also launch the oval and they will explode on contact with a target. Beams can stay on for as long as Izuku wants, and he can adjust how far he want them to go, [Thus using the first image as his cage he can make a "sword" out of his energy] however he needs to stay hydrated because the energy takes water from his system to form.
Strangely, Izuku's energy doesn't melt whatever it's formed in however can get to tempatures equal to plasma. If formed on one Cage formation and used on another Cage formation they won't melt either. It's a strange fenamanon that no one has answers to. The default heat is 1100° Celsius (2012° Fahrenheit) The hotter it gets the deeper its shade of red becomes.
A "Cage" refers to a formation with at least 5 "bars" to contain the energy. There is no max to the amount of bars required, only a space requirement of at least 1 centimeter between bars. The bigger the oval the more water it require to power, however. Thankfully, as result of this drawback a kind of expandable sack formed connected to his stomach that grabs any excess water not needed to hydrate his body for his quirk to use. When it's empty however it falls back on any water left within his body, and that's when it gets dangerous to his health. He has had this sack since birth.
