Izuku's quirk is Infinilung. His lungs have become a vestigial organ, his body no longer requires oxygen. His lungs were re-purposed to produce carbonized water, that he can shoot out at extremely pressurized and fast speeds. Like, punch a hole through diamond speeds.
By "breathing" in he pressurizes the water already in his lungs, and exhaling shoots it out. Shaping his lips changes the way it shoots, and by shooting a constant stream from his nose he can achieve a form of semi-flight.
Because he no longer needs oxygen, he can go into space or stay underwater infinitely.
