Izuku's quirk is Self-Edit. He can permanantly edit anything about himself and ONLY himself. A seemingly useless quirk for fighting right? Well that would be true... if it wasn't Izuku's Quirk.

Self-Edit gives Izuku complete knowledge on what's happening with his body, as well as what's inside it with its main ability allowing him to edit any part of it. This means literally everything from diseases, wounds, his atomic structure, his height, his weight, the way his body functions, the density of his muscles and muscle mass, blood cell count, fat, bone structure, skin toughness, odor... anything that involves his body can be edited. Well... anything but one thing. His quirk factor.

Another thing he can do is copy or destroy parts of one thing to paste onto another. (Found this out by copy pasting the color of his hair to his eyebrows. He tried out white hair and liked it, deciding that he would separate his Hero identity from his Civilian identity by having White hair no freckles and slightly bulkier muscles than his Civilian form as a Hero and Green hair with freckles as a Civilian/Student. [Except for the Sports Festival, he wears his Hero Persona there] Instead of changing the color of his freckles to his skin color he decided to try and delete one of them. He succeeded in doing so and lost the genetic structure it used because it was destroyed. Thankfully he had seven other freckles he could copy and paste.

Early on Izuku learned he couldn't edit his own quirk factor. Well... not that he COULDN'T... he could... but when he attempts to change it, it attempts to disintegrate and he has to edit it all back to full integrity. However, what about a quirk factor that was given to him?

After receiving One for All from All Might his Quirk alerted him to the fact that it was shorting his lifespan and that something changed with his own quirk factor. Editing his lifespan back to normal did nothing, as it ate it all back up. So he looked towards the root of the problem. Mentally probing One for All showed him multiple things. His quirk did its usual thing (which he accociated the sensation to like opening up a folder on a computer) and he learned that it was simulating multiple quirk factors, that he will then get after One for All builds up a little more power (or he edits that power to full) He learned that it held the vestiges of its past weilders. He learned that those vestiges had also looked through all of his memories before the transfer and were watching this whole process through his own eyes. (which he found both kinda meta and kinda creepy) He learned that One for All was actually two quirks named Power Stockpile and Transference, and that the Transference part was governed by one of the Vestiges. Finally, he learned that One for All was empowering his quirk, however how it was doing so was too complicated for Izuku to understand. And then he found the problem. One for All took up too much space in his body.

So Izuku tried to edit One for All, memorizing what it looked like before attempting it in case of discentigration; and it worked. He successfully edited One for All's space to basically zero. Feeling a little invigorated, Izuku turned to the Vestiges and restored their ability to communicate before promptly passing out due to the pain of suddenly hearing multiple voices shouting in his head at the top of their lungs about his edits and one particular comment of "Being too young to die the same way twice", and simple quirk exhaustion.

Downsides and limitations

Izuku cannot edit something without a base. This means that without something to build off of or destroy, he can't do it. [What I mean is that he can't just edit himself to have a second quirk factor. He needs something to build off of, and since he can't edit his own quirk in any way, he can't give himself another quirk.]

Izuku uses up stamina to make changes. When he runs out of stamina he starts using up his life energy. To combat this he builds up his stamina, as well as every day at the end of the day, when he's about to go to sleep he uses up whatever remaining stamina he has to build up his life force as an emergency backup source.

Unfortunately editing stamina is semi counterproductive. While he CAN do it, it doesn't work as well as editing other stuff would. It is mabye 1/3rd less productive than doing it naturally because he's using up stamina to create more stamina, get it?

Things I thought of

Izuku looks at the x-rays of people's wings and tries to mimic it's skeletal and muscular structure. He succeeds but needs to learn how to use them.

He tries making claws using his finger bones. He succeeds.

He tries to turn his body into diffrent things like rubber or diamond. He succeeds.

Izuku takes inspiration from One Piece after the First hounded him to watch it and asks Daigoro if he could edit Blackwhip to mimic the Dark Dark Fruit. He agrees, and it is somewhat successful. Everything works like it should except it's heavily nerfd.

Izuku copies the ability to manipulate the quirk itself from Blackwhip and pastes it onto Smokescreen and Float, giving him a type of air control and actual flight.

Izuku explains away One for All by saying that his quirk underwent an awakening to allow him to finally edit his own quirk factor, allowing him to make and use 7 quirks other than his own.
