It was silent.

You couldn't remember the last time you heard...nothing.

The sun was warm on your face as you stood on the back porch of Kayce's friend's, you learned earlier from his time in the military, cabin. There was about three acres stretched out in front of you with a line of trees ending the grounds. You knew the river was right behind those trees and about another ten-minute walk was the lake.

The drive up had been quiet as well, but comfortable. You and Kayce listened to music softly, only interrupting for quick comments here and there. He kept his hand on your thigh for most of the drive as you sat cross-legged in the passenger seat. When you got there, he told you to go look around as he unloaded the truck. It took you a few seconds to fall in love.

It was a small, two-bedroom place with a warm living room and cozy kitchen. There wasn't much to it really, but you loved that most about it. You heard the back door open and Kayce's footsteps across the porch before he came up to you.

"You already look happier," He commented laughing. You smiled over at him before turning serious. Wrapping your arms around his torso you leaned into his side. Your head rest against his shoulder as you looked up into his caramel eyes.

"Thank you," You breathed out.

"Does this mean I proved it?" He chuckled, pulling you closer.

"Proved what?"

"That I love you," He didn't let you answer immediately as he gave you a long kiss. One that left you slightly breathless and wanting more.

"You proved that a long time ago," You giggled, unwinding your arms, and walked down the steps onto the grass. "Come on, cowboy!"

"Where are you off to?" Kayce laughed.

You stopped and turned around. "Let's go see this lake!"

"Alright," Kayce reached over and grabbed a think blanket before joining you. When you eyed it curiously, he laughed. "The last time we were by a body of water, you decided to go a little crazy and my back ain't what it used to be."

"Kayce!" You slapped his arm, blushing hard.

"Hey, I'm not complaining! Just preparing," He dodged another slap, laughing.

"You and your blanket can go enjoy yourselves then!" You huffed, although you were smiling brightly.

Kayce then took the edges of the blanket and wrapped it around your back, bringing you up next to him. He leaned down before you could comment and kissed you hard.

Your finger wove their way through his hair as your tongue lapped against his. The kiss heated by the moment as he dropped the blanket, grabbing your waist tightly. His lips moved to your neck, sucking hard against your skin leaving marks you weren't sure would fade in time to get back home, but you didn't care.

"Thought you," Kayce kissed against your warm skin. "Wanted to...see the...lake?"

You also didn't care about the lake anymore.

"Baby?" You asked and Kayce hummed in response. "Shut the fuck up."

"Yes ma'am," Kayce quickly leaned you down onto the soft grass, wedging his hips between your legs.

You didn't know how long it was been since the two of you had been together like this. A week ago, you two had what you'd call a high school quickie inside your closet, but this...this is what you craved most. Kayce's hands roaming your body, his lips igniting your skin, all you could feel, see, and hear was him.
