Request - Can I request where the reader doesn't know how to swim she goes with Kayce and Tate to a swimming hole and Kayce throws her in and she freaks out Tate notices she's not coming back up and Kayce drives in after her.
You took another bite of your apple as you watched Tate climb back up the rocks for the hundredth time that afternoon. He was soaking wet, but when he reached the top he turned with the biggest smile on his face that was contagious to your lips.
"Ready, Dad?" Tate called out.
"Ready when you are!" Kayce yelled back from where he was swimming in the river.
This was a special place for you three this afternoon. It was a part where the river running through the ranch became a waterfall, even if it wasn't massive. Kayce and you had surprised Tate with an afternoon of swimming and you had been content with sitting on the blanket and snacking away as the two of them swam until they were little prunes.
"Are you watching, Y/N?" Tate smiled down at you.
"I'm ready!" You smiled back up.
Tate leaped off the rocks and fell down before splashing a few feet away from Kayce who had to turn as a mini-wave hit him. Tate popped up a few moments later laughing. When he got close enough to Kayce, the father grabbed him under the arms and tossed him backward. You smiled at both of them, loving that they were getting this time.
"Y/N!" Tate called. "Come in with us!"
You sat your eaten apple down and stood up, brushing off your legs, and walked over to the water, being careful of the rocks. When your toes hit the mud you shivered as the cooler temperature, but the sun beating down on you helped. You waded into the water until you were about knee-deep and smiled.
Kayce swam over until he could stand and walked up to you. He had a glint in his eyes though and you felt yourself get nervous. You weren't the best swimmer, having maybe swum in water three times in your whole life. You grew up on a dairy farm, so water wasn't in your upbringing and you never really felt the need to learn.
"Wait, Kace!" You tried to push his arms away but he was faster, scooping you up and tossing you into the deep end of the watering hole.
You felt yourself sink down fast, your hair blocking your vision. It was like your limbs were in shock, not able to move as you sank farther down. The sun was the only thing you could sort of make out as you drifted even deeper. When your toes hit the bottom you settled and then panic set in. But you didn't know what to do...it was like your brain stopped altogether or something. Your lungs started to burn as you opened your mouth to let bubbles out.
Something grabbed you though, and as you turned you felt yourself being pushed towards the surface. There was a strong grip around your middle as the surface got closer and closer, until you broke through it, coughing and sputtering.
"Y/N!" Kayce's voice was in your ear. "I'm so sorry, I blanked and forgot."
You kept coughing as Kayce moved you both over to where you could stand up near the bank of the river. His hands held you close to his chest as you gasped for air. It was a few moments before you felt like you could feel air coming into your lungs.
"Breathe, baby," Kayce placed both his hands on your cheeks.
Your eyes found his deep brown ones and you felt yourself calm down with each breath. Your shaky hands held his wrists as your throat slowly stopped burning.
"Y/N, are you okay?" Tate asked from beside you. You looked down at the little boy who was worried about you, he wrapped his arms around your middle.
"Tate," Kayce went to push him off you but you wanted more, so you held Kayce's hand as you leaned down, your knee sinking into the mud, and held your arms out to Tate who threw his around your neck. "Easy, son."
