Request - the scenery with the snow gave me an idea what if one weekend (while Tate is with Monica) there is a surprise snowstorm and Y/N and Kayce get snowed in, the power goes out and Kayce just handles the situation makes a fire bbq outside cuddle
"It's really coming down," You looked out the window at the snowfall.
The news had said to prepare for some snow to fall within the next six hours. It's been two hours and ten inches have fell. Kayce had just made it back from dropping Tate off with his mother before it started to really snow.
You felt arms wrap around you from behind. Kayce pressed a kiss to your cheek as he leaned his chin on your shoulder as you both looked out the window.
"It's pretty," He mumbled.
You gave him a funny look.
"What?" He asked you.
"You never say something's pretty," You raised an eyebrow at him.
"Not true," Kayce frowned. "I say you're pretty all the time."
You smiled at him, leaning in to kiss his lips. The lights flickered over both of you before they all went out completely.
"Shit," Kayce said, looking up.
"What do we do?" You asked, turning around in his arms.
The only light was the fire Kayce had going in the room. The flames cast shadows over everything now, and you suddenly got worried due to it being after seven.
"Looks like we're sleeping in here tonight," Kayce left you, walking over to the fire.
"What do you mean?" You asked, watching him feed the fire more wood, the flames growing and the warmth traveling farther in the room.
"Power will come on when it does," Kayce leaned back up and looking at you. "But for now, this room will be the only one warm."
You sighed, looking back down at the fire, and thought of something. You and Kayce hadn't had dinner yet. Walking over to the fridge you pulled out the steaks you had marinating for later and set them on the counter.
"Think you can cook these, caveman?" You smirked over at Kayce.
"Ain't even a challenge, baby," Kayce walked over and grabbed a skillet from over the stove, twisting it in his hand as he walked back to the fire.
You watched Kayce place the skillet over the crossed wood, securing it with one of the metal pokes and then walking back over to you. He took the plate from you and returned to his crouch next to the fire. You walked over, grabbing a blanket and wrapping it around your shoulders.
You sat on the ledge of the fireplace as Kayce cooked your steaks. You wouldn't admit it to him, but you had been impressed by his cooking skills.
"So now I see that to get you to cook, I have to shut the power off?" You smiled at him.
"The reason you cook more," Kayce walked over and grabbed an oven mitt to hold the skillet's handle with. "Is because you're a better cook, baby."
Kayce walked the skillet over to the kitchen island and placed the steak on a cutting board. He went ahead and sliced them, not wanting to lose too much heat before y'all ate. He plated them and walked back over to you. Kayce sat right next to you as you both are your steaks.
"How is it?" Kayce asked you.
"It's good," You leaned over and kissed his cheek. "Thank you."
"You cold?" Kayce asked, looking down at you.
