Sweet ABC's of Kayce

Request – ABC's of Kayce, please!! Don't care if it's Smut or Sweet!!

Author's Note – this is the first time I'm trying this so if it flops, I apologize! If this works, then I might do the smut version too.

A – Affection

It depends on the situation whether Kayce is affectionate with you or not. He will usually always have a hand on you in some way, like your back, knee, or holding or hand in public. If you are with family or friends, he'll put his arm around you or let you sit on his lap. When it's just to two of you, then all bets are off and he's very affectionate with you.

B - Birthday

You introduced Kayce to the world of birthdays and how you like to celebrate them. Since his mother died, he never really thought about his birthday, but with you in the picture it's now a whole day ordeal. You cook him his favorite breakfast, usually let him hang with Tate for the day, and then celebrate with the family over a nice dinner.

For your birthday, you didn't expect much due to Kayce's lack of knowledge, but he surprised you with a picnic out in the fields and star gazing that night after dinner in town at your favorite restaurant.

C – Communication

Sometimes you have to poke Kayce enough to get him to open up. While he likes to talk with you, sometimes he just doesn't know how to say things without hurting you or making you worry about him. There have been a few times where it had ended in a fight between the two of you, but those always end with Kayce and you working through things together.

D – Date Night

With Kayce, less is more. Being Livestock Commissioner, and quite frankly a Dutton, he never knows where he will end up in the evenings. But if he can plan something special for you it would either be star gazing in the valley, or a picnic by the river. On a rare occasion he'll grill something for supper for the two of you or bring back a bottle of your favorite wine if he knows he will be late.

E – Engagement

On a cool spring morning, after the two of you rode your horses up the mountain, Kayce would pull you close under a tree where you were looking out over the valley and whisper into your ear how he wants you forever. The ring would be his mother's, simple but elegant...holding more meaning than you'd ever imagine.

F – Forgiveness

Forgiveness is huge for Kayce because for most of his adult life if has become a rule to him – better to ask for forgiveness than permission. But with you, it's his whole world. He knows he's a constant burden on your mind, his choices not always aligning with yours. He knows he keeps you up at night when he's not home, but you always forgive him and it's a blessing he doesn't overlook.

G – Gifts

Kayce and you don't do big gifts, ever. There's not enough time to worry, nor do you feel like you need anything. Your gift to Kayce is you being by his side. Kayce's gift to you is his promise to be there for you.

H – Horses

If you were to ask Kayce, he'd probably say his favorite thing to do with you is ride around the ranch on horseback. He loves watching you race alongside him, or just stand on the mountains overlooking the valleys. Your favorite part about riding is when Kayce lets you sit with him, his arms around you while you both enjoy the barely touched world in front of you.

I – Included

Kayce immediately included you into his family. With his son Tate, it was an instant friendship. With Beth, you gained an older sister. With Jamie, you held the only voice of reason he had within his own family. With John, he got his son back in his life.
