Request - what if Kayce and Y/N are out at dinner at a restaurant Kayce goes to the bathroom or to take a phone call or something and when he comes back a man is in his place hitting on Y/N and the man isn't taking no for an answer and says like hey she doesn't have a ring on her finger, so she is still fair game to hit on and Kayce gets jealous/protective

Dinners alone with Kayce were rare.

Dinners alone with Kayce outside of the ranch were almost nonexistent.

But today was different. You had been in town to run some errands, and since it was supper time, and Kayce was working late at his office, you two were able to meet for a quick bite. There was an Italian place that had just opened up. Both of you in your wranglers and boots were probably not dressed appropriately, but you didn't care. You were too busy enjoying the view of Kayce reading his menu across the small table from you.

One of Kayce's little quirks was he hated deciding at restaurants. All the choices were overwhelming since he was used to always eating whatever was served at the ranch. You had decided a few minutes ago but were smirking at the frustrated lines on his forehead.

"What're you getting?" Kayce asked you without looking up.

"The pasta carbonara with a salad to start," You smiled. "They have spaghetti and meatballs, or you'd also like the lasagna."

"I only like your lasagna," Kayce mumbled as he flipped the menu back over.

"Hi there," A younger woman came up with a notepad. "Can I start you off with something to drink?"

"I'll just take a water, please," You smiled at her. After a moment of Kayce still looking at the menu and the poor girl looking back at you, you said, "He will too."

"Okay, thanks," She smiled. "I'll be right back with that and some bread for the table."

Kayce placed his menu back on the table and leaned in, finally looking at you. You raised an eyebrow at him.

"I'll do the spaghetti," He said, rolling his eyes.

"Mhmm," You nodded. "How was the office today?"

"Exhausting," Kayce sighed. "I really should go back after this and finish a few things."

"I can go with you if you want?" You asked as the waitress came back, setting your water and a bread basket down in front of you.

"Are you ready to order?" She asked.

"I'll take a house salad to start and the pasta carbonara," You handed her your menu.

"That's my favorite," She smiled and looked at Kayce. "And for you sir?"

"The spaghetti and meatballs, please."

When she walked off you took a sip of your water while Kayce broke off a piece of the bread and popped it in his mouth.

"It's just some paperwork, so if you don't mind being bored?" He looked at you.

"I'll find something to do," You shrugged.

A buzzing from Kayce's pocket interrupted you both and you frowned. Kayce took a sigh as he pulled out his phone and looked back up at you.

"Sorry," He stood from his seat and made his way out to the lobby of the place. You watched him until he was out of sight and sat back in your chair with a huff. You were used to this, but it just felt even more annoying tonight.

"Excuse me," A man came up next to you, leaning down slightly so you could hear him.

"Yes?" You asked looking up. What you didn't expect was for him to take Kayce's chair and sit down. "Can I help you?"
