Request – Y/n is in the third trimester of pregnancy and is really emotional. Kayce try's to help the best he can but sometimes thinks it's really funny, and something happens that before pregnancy she would laugh about but now, she's really upset and crying, so Kayce trying to comfort her the best he can well not laugh to make her more upset.
You had never been the girl who cared about her weight. Like everything in life your weight had fluctuated over time, and you had come to accept that your body was yours.
When you had met Kayce, you had gained a few pounds around your middle due to a horrible boyfriend before him. When you dated Kayce, due to him being a cowboy, you became more active for the better and lost the weight. Then you married Kayce, and suddenly got what the wranglers called 'ranch muscles' with helping as you could. It was also amazing what a pair of wrangler jeans could do to your legs and ass...but you'd have to take Kayce's word on that one.
Kayce had always appreciated your view of your body. He loved your hips, the curve of your waist. He was always touching you in some way, holding you close to him. He loved your height, your hair, and your eyes. The fact you weren't like other girls who cared way too much was something he found even more attractive in you.
Then you got pregnant. It was a surprise, a year after your wedding, but you and Kayce had always wanted to start a family. Your doctor had been slightly concerned during your first trimester because you only gained about eight pounds...and you were all tummy. He put you on a protein diet which seemed to work because during your second trimester you gained another eleven pounds.
Now, in your third trimester, you were feeling different about yourself. You knew you were growing a life inside of you, your baby was inside of you. But when you looked in the mirror all you saw was how draining this had been on your body. You weren't glowing, like all the magazines said you would.
Your skin was dull looking, your back was killing you, while you couldn't see stretch marks, you could feel them all over your skin. Your hair wasn't it's usually shine, and your ankles looked like the cows your husband was currently tagging.
You knew your clothes wouldn't fit you...but you didn't realize that now, you couldn't even button up one of Kayce's shirts around your belly. Frustrated, you threw the shirt on the ground and felt tears pool in your eyes.
"Babe?" Kayce called, coming inside for a quick lunch break and to check in on you.
You wiped at your eyes, not wanting Kayce to see you upset and then have to talk about it. Grabbing a sleep shirt of yours you tugged it over you head and walked out of the closet to see Kayce walking into the bedroom. He was a bit dusty from this morning, but the sun had given his skin a nice tan over the last week. His caramel eyes brightened when he saw you.
"Hey," He smiled. "You okay? Look a little tired."
You stopped walking and stared at him. The tears didn't stop this time as they fell down your cheeks. Kayce immediately looked concerned and walked over to you. You stepped out of his grasp and walked over to the bed, sitting down on the edge and sniffing hard.
"Y/N..." Kayce kneeled in front of you, his hand resting on your knee. "What's wrong?"
"It's stupid," You wiped a few tears away.
"I bet it's not," Kayce tilted his head so he could try and see your eyes. "What's wrong?"
"I'm..." You huffed, not wanting to admit it out loud.
"You're what?" Kayce asked.
"I'm...look at me!" You held your hands out.
Kayce's eyes danced over you sitting there and then looked back up into your eyes. He looked confused, not understanding what you were saying or trying to show him.
"What am I looking at?" Kayce asked gently.
"I'm...huge," You sighed and then it was like word vomit. "I'm as big as a cow! I know I'm supposed to be big; I'm growing a fucking baby...but God I can't even fit into one of your shirts anymore so I'm wearing this pajama top...one I've worn three fives days in a row...five, Kayce!"
Kayce raised an eyebrow at your rant.
"My ankles are the size of cantaloupes...don't even get me started about all of this," You circled your stomach. "The bags under my eyes are bigger than Beth's designer ones she carries...my hair bothers me so much that all I want to do it hack it off...I look like shit, I feel like shit...and yesterday at the store some little punk kid told me I should eat more vegetables because he thought I was fat, not pregnant!"
Kayce looked at you for a few seconds before he snorted. Your eyebrows shot up as he tried to catch himself, but he snorted again, it turning into a laugh.
"M'sorry," Kayce bit his lip. "Baby, I'm sorry...it's not funny."
"No, it's not," You glared at him. "You wouldn't know...with your tan skin and sexy eyes...get away from me."
You stood up, slowly, and tried to maneuver around Kayce. But he was faster and held you, stepping with you to keep himself in front of you.
"Sexy eyes?" Kayce smirked at you.
"Let go," You snapped at him, swatting at his hands trying to hold you.
"Y/N, stop," Kayce chuckled. "I'm sorry...this is serious if you're feeling this way."
"I'm not feeling this way," You sighed out of frustration. "I'm just...tired and big."
"Well," Kayce looked you up and down. "You are growing another human being inside of you."
"I blame you," You glared at him.
"Okay," Kayce rolled his eyes. "Not that you were telling me to get off you...but sure, let's put this on me for the time being."
"You and your Dutton...reproducing genes," You huffed, pushing your hair out of your face. "With your skin and your perfect smile...and it's all just a lot, okay?"
"You realize you're not making sense, right babe?" Kayce smiled, slowly reaching up and cupping your face.
You sighed, giving up on trying to explain anymore because you had in fact realized you weren't making too much sense.
"I feel like my hormones have fucked with my brain," You frowned. "I'm just tired and sore from carrying this around all day."
Kayce looked at your stomach before moving to stand behind you. You looked over your shoulder at him as he brought his hands around to rub your stomach. Kayce put his chin on your shoulder as his hands moved under your belly. Gently, he lifted his hands, pulling with him almost all the weight you were used to carrying.
If felt like heaven against your back and legs, and you rested your head against Kayce's. You sighed out loud, holding his arms and shutting your eyes.
"Damn," You breathed out.
"Better?" Kayce asked.
"I love you," You said, making Kayce chuckle.
"I love you too, babe," Kayce pressed a kiss to your cheek.
He held you for a few more minutes before he gently lowered your stomach back to normal. But it felt ten times better now as Kayce stepped around you again. You opened your eyes, feeling like a whole new woman.
"I know you might think one way," Kayce said with a seriousness to his tone. "But you've never been more beautiful to me...more of a woman to me than right now."
You smiled up at him.
"You're carrying our child, Y/N," Kayce smiled. "You can feel whatever you want, but that's what makes this whole thing beautiful."
"Thanks," You blushed, leaning in and hugging Kayce as best you could.
A few seconds passed by.
"What did you mean by my skin?" Kayce asked.
"Hormones," You giggled, walking past him.
