Request - Wedding first look and Kayce cries? Like maybe during the first look, he lifts the veil?
You were beginning to regret your decision to walk yourself down the aisle. Why were you such a strong and independent woman, again? Everyone was looking at you...but you guessed that made sense seeing as how you were the only one dressed in white and your name was on the invitation.
It was thankfully a small church, only about thirty rows of pews you had to pass. They just all happened to be full. At least it was family and close friends. If it wasn't for your bouquet of yellow roses, everyone would have probably seen just how badly your hands were shaking.
Your dress was simply you. Your favorite mix of creams and ivory swirled with lace and silky fabric that hugged you perfectly. Your veil was covering your front half. It had been your mom's...your something borrowed for this occasion.
The large stain-glass window provided a beautiful, light show with the setting sun as you walked forward. Kayce was standing at the altar, Tate to his right and Beth a little farther to his left...room for you of course.
Kayce was dressed exactly how you wanted him. A sharp, black suit with a yellow rose in his chest pocket. His hair was clean, brushed, and pushed back from his face which had been neatly trimmed. You'd have to look hard to see the rugged cowboy and Montana's Livestock Commissioner today. But he was just as handsome.
When you got close enough, Kayce stepped out and offered you, his hand. Reaching out, you held it firmly, trying to tell Kayce just how nervous this all was making you.
Sure, you wanted to marry him...it was the attention that was getting to you. You walked over and turned to face Kayce at the altar. Reaching back, you handed Beth your roses, feeling a quick second of peace when she winked at you. You then faced Kayce again.
There was a buzzing in your ear which made it difficult to hear what the preacher was saying. But you watched Kayce reach his hand forward and slowly pull up your veil. You leaned your head down, so it was easier for Kayce to gently toss the veil behind you. Taking a deep breath, you looked up slowly at Kayce.
His eyes were clear, crystal clear as they looked back at you. You had very rarely seen Kayce Dutton stunned you almost didn't realize that's what that look on his face was. You could see him swallow deeply as he took your hands in his. The preacher continued but you weren't paying attention.
Kayce's eyes were glossy, and he shifted on his feet in front of you as he looked you up and down. His eyes danced everywhere, from your gown to your hair and back again. You could feel your cheeks warming and you gave him a look as if to ask what he was looking at.
'You look beautiful' Kayce mouthed to you, and you saw a tear fall down his cheek.
You let out a short breath of air and felt Kayce's fingers tighten around you. Without thinking you reached one of your hands out and wiped away the tear. It was the murmur of chuckles from the audience you had forgotten about that made you look around quickly. Your blush shifted from light pink to maroon as your eyes snapped back to Kayce's.
He smiled at you though, your caring spirit not damped by all this hoopla.
The preacher said all the right words, you and Kayce not caring enough for personal vows...you wanted him and he you, everything else didn't matter.
"By the power vested within me, I now declare you husband and wife...Kayce, you may now kiss your bride."
Kayce didn't need to be told twice and stepped toward you, bringing one of his hands to cup your cheek as he kissed you deeply. You kissed him back, hearing the cheers from the audience and the organ startup.
The two of you made your way quickly down the aisle and back into one of the smaller rooms of the church. You would wait for everyone to head back to the ranch for the reception before you took a few more photos.
You let out a huge sigh as Kayce shut the door and walked over to you. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you closer to him.
"No turning back now," You giggled against his lips.
"Gotta call you wife now," Kayce's lips pressed against yours, then your cheek, and then your jaw before he hugged you tightly.
"Sorry, I called out your tears," You pulled back, biting your lip,
"No, you ain't," Kayce rolled his eyes. "But you were beautiful...you are beautiful, look at you."
He held your arms out so he could see your dress. His eyes got that same clear, look to them as they drank you in practically.
"Damn..." Kayce whistled.
"Stop it," You tugged him back into you, your lips finding his.
"I love you," You whispered.
"I love you more," Kayce swayed you both for a minute.
The two of you just soaked each other in for the last few moments the two of you would have alone until the reception was over.
