Request - Reader is shot in attack or some kind of accident and Kayce and wranglers find her and have to do CPR on her until chopper or ambulance arrives and they aren't sure if she will make it.
You sat up on your horse as you watched Kayce, John, and Rip speak to the cowboys on the other side of the fence. They had been moving buffalo throughout the pastures just west of the Yellowstone and John was getting nervous about them being too close to the Dutton's cattle.
You hung back with Teeter and Ryan, having only joined Kayce for an afternoon ride to spend some time with him. It had been hard for any type of date night or outing the past few weeks. So, when he said you could rid along today, you jumped at it. Now, with the way the other guys were looking, you had wished you'd stay back at the cabin.
You were far enough away you couldn't hear what all was being said, but soon they were shouting at one another. You glanced at Ryan who had a concerned look on his face. Then, the men all pulled guns, pointing them at Kayce and the others. You felt your grip on your horses reigns tighten.
"Y/N, get back to the ranch," Ryan said as he pulled his gun out.
Almost immediately there was gunfire. You didn't have time to do anything before you felt something punch you in the stomach. You must have made a sound because Ryan and Teeter looked at you.
Looking down you saw blood oozing through your shirt on your right side. Your hand came up to hold yourself just under the wound. Your eyes glanced up to see Kayce looking back at you but then you felt your eyes get heavy. Teeter reached over to you before you completely blacked out but by the time, she and Ryan got you off the horse you were coming in and out of consciousness.
You felt yourself be lowered to the ground, a lot of shouting still going on around you. You could also feel hands over your body.
You blinked once and saw Teeter looking down at you from above.
You blinked once and saw her shouting at Ryan.
You blinked once and saw Ryan looking down at you know, saying something.
You blinked once and then Kayce was above you.
Then your eyes stayed closed.
You weren't aware of Rip and John taking out the two men across the fence with their own guns, leaving their bodies on their horses as the animals rode away fast from the noise.
You weren't aware of Kayce shouting at Rip for the helicopter, the fear in his eyes and voice prevalent to the group. Rip was barking for the chopper to meet them in the valley while John was already on the phone with the county hospital to prepare them.
You weren't aware that Kayce started CPR on you when you wouldn't answer him back. There were tears starting in his eyes as Teeter held your head stable on the soft grass. John sent Ryan back to camp to alert everyone what had happened.
You weren't aware of the helicopter landing ten minutes later, Kayce still administering CPR to you before he picked you up and with Rip's help, got you into the chopper. You, Kacey, and John all rode in it over to the hospital.
You weren't aware of Kayce breaking down in the chopper, stroking your cheek and begging you to come back to him with John holding his shoulder. Nor did you feel when you landed, the medical team swiftly getting you back downstairs and straight into surgery.
The stray bullet hit your liver, which turned out to be the best organ to hit. After four hours they were ale to remove the bullet and repair to liver. Your recovery time would be slightly longer, but you'd survive.
