Request : what if reader and Kayce are dating when they're teenagers (like Kayce is 19) and Kayce picks her up in his old Ford, but he had no plans... so they decide to just wing it and instead of going to a fancy restaurant they just drive around, go to the grocery store and grab a bunch or random food, then they eat in the back of the truck box and then on the way home Kayce pulls over the truck (in front of a nice sunset) and walks around and opens her door and says, " I don't want this to end just yet" so he turns up the radio to some slow song and starts dancing in the headlights ❤️- basically just a really cute teenage Kayce date night!

Author's Note – So I made the reader nineteen and Kayce twenty-one...you'll see why in the story :)

You dropped back onto your bed, exhausted from classes and lab today. You were almost finished with your freshman year and while everything had been exciting and great, you were exhausted and ready for summer.

For almost twelve weeks you would be working on the Dutton ranch...which meant for almost twelve weeks you'd get to also see your boyfriend every day. Speaking of your favorite blonde, he started calling your phone. You reached down and hit the speaker.

"Hey," You smiled.

"Whatcha doing?" Kayce's voice filled up the space in your apartment bedroom.

"Just got home," You turned on your side. "Thinking if it would be possible to not leave my bed for the next forty-eight hours."

"Want company?" Kayce asked, making you snort.

"Do you ever get tired?" You giggled.

"Not of you," Kayce said and you could hear his smile.

"You're lucky you're charming," You rolled your eyes. "What are you up to?"

"I'm headed into town," Kayce answered. "Thinking about picking you up."

"What would we do?" You asked.

You were a broke college kid and while Kayce's family had money, they were a ranching family. Ranch wealth was something way different than normal wealth, you had come to learn. Plus, Kayce had successfully pissed off his father for the third week in a row, so something told you John didn't slip him a twenty before he drove off today.

"No clue," Kayce said. "Honestly, just want to see you."

"Do you write these lines down or do you just keep the locked away in some part of that brain of yours?" You asked with a smile.

"You must bring them out of me," Kayce said. "Come outside, I'm here."

"You don't want to come in and say hi to Kim?" You asked, rising from your bed.

"Last time I saw her she said I broke her concentration on that toaster she was fixing," Kayce said.

"She was building a switchboard for her civil engineering class," You laughed. "It wasn't a toaster!"

"She scares me," Kayce laughed.

You walked out into the common room and grabbed your purse.

"Be out in a second," You said hanging up.

You locked the door and walked down the stairs to the parking lot. Kayce's old, red Ford truck was sitting in front of the sidewalk. You always rolled your eyes at this truck. His father had an arsenal of Dodges at his command, but Kayce wanted to drive this piece instead.

"Hey," You smiled, opening the door and hoping in.

"Howdy," Kayce smirked.

You leaned over, tilting your head to the side, and kissed him. Kayce wrapped an arm around your waist and pulled you over next to him, deepening the kiss.
