Request – A spring wedding between the Reader and Kayce. I won't give any specifics just that possibly it could be a two parter. Part One for the wedding. Part Two for the wedding night.
Author's Note - This will be three parts. The Wedding, The Reception, and The Wedding Night. Enjoy :)
Part One – The Wedding
You hadn't been nervous up until this exact moment. You weren't sure why either; you've wanted this since the day you met him. More than wanted this, you needed this. This completed your life in your mind...marrying Kayce Dutton.
Your dress felt like heaven against your skin, the ivory lace hugging your hips, draping down your long legs, and making your skin look radiant against the late afternoon sun. Your hair was piled behind you, soft curls falling down your back. The bouquet of wildflowers, tied together with a burlap string, were held in a death grip beneath your fingers. And even though they were mostly hidden, your tan cowboy boots held your warm feet.
You were standing on the back porch, the famous Dutton Ranch landscape splashed in front of you. Off to the side were a few rows of wicker chairs lined up facing the mountain range. They were filled with family and a few close friends, no more than thirty people. A few figures stood where an alter would be. You couldn't see their details, but you knew they were John, Jamie, Rip and Kayce on one side, your sister and Teeter on the other. You were cursing yourself for not agreeing to Kayce's offer to elope a few weeks back when all this wedding nonsense had nearly driven you both mad.
"There's still time."
You looked behind you to see Beth standing on the porch with you, wearing a navy dress with an orange sash around her elbows. Her light eyes were warm, and she held a smile not common among her features.
"Time for what?" You asked softly, your voice not very strong at the moment.
Beth took a few steps until she was right next to you. She looped her arm through yours, looking out towards the guests waiting.
"To run away," Beth smirked.
"If you could get Kayce in the truck then I think I might say yes," You let out a breath.
"Don't tempt me," Beth nudged you with her hip. "But are you ready?"
"I'm ready to be married to Kayce," You nodded your head. "I'm not ready to feel like some prize pig."
"You are not a pig," Beth rolled her eyes. "You look beautiful."
"Thank you," You looked down at your dress, still in love with it as you were the first time you tried it on.
"Come on," Beth pulled you forward and the two of you started to make your way down to the ceremony.
You could hear the string quartet begin the play and the small crowd turn to look back at you. When they realized you were coming, everyone stood, and you felt your heart quicken. Beth tightened her hold on you.
"Steady," She whispered. "Smile."
You passed faces of everyone you loved. This place had meant so much to you over the past five years, and everyone who had come and gone left a part of them inside your heart. You hadn't expected to get emotional now, but you felt small tears well up in the corner of your eyes.
Then you locked eyes with Kayce.
Kayce was dressed in his good dress boots, pressed wrangler jeans, a crisp white button down and a black suit jacket. A few wildflowers, matching your bouquet, were popping out of his jacket pocket. He looked handsome, his hair pushed back, and facial hair trimmed up around his skin. His smile though, was one he would only share with you over the time you two had met and dated. It was soft but held so much more emotion than the man could ever put into words. When you got to him you looked over at Beth who took your bouquet and mouthed 'thank you' to her before she took her place next to your sister.
