Request - I have an idea please let me know what you think: what if Kayce goes to one of his old Navy buddy's weddings and invites Y/N? Kayce feels a bit out of place at formal weddings and likes having her there is blown away by her looks and dress (normally she is dressed down. Maybe they hold hands during the ceremony? She catches the bouquet, and they slow dance, and she overhears some stories about his time in the Navy and how heroic he was. First time meeting his friends from the navy.

You had never been to Virginia. You also never thought your first time there would be for a wedding, of one of your boyfriend's old friends from when he was in the Navy. What did one wear to a Navy wedding? You would have slapped yourself, had you not been so nervous, for packing three different dresses.

"Babe," Kayce's voice came through the bathroom door of the hotel you both were staying at. "We've got ten minutes before we need to leave."

"I know," You sighed, looking at yourself. This was going to have to be the one you picked.

The dress was a deep blue, almost black, ankle-length gown. It was tight on top, straps crossing over your chest with an open back. The bottom part flows pretty down your legs with an appropriate slit up to your mid-thigh. You had pulled your hair into a slick ponytail, a few gold earrings on each ear and the gold necklace Kayce got you for Christmas this past year finished your look off. Your makeup was simple but elegant...not your typical look, but you felt pretty in it. You opened the door.

"I'm sorry," You walked out and saw Kayce look up from where he was sitting on the bed. "It's gonna have to be this one then."

Kayce had told you he wouldn't be in any sort of military dress, his friends didn't usually wear those except maybe a funeral...maybe. So, he was dressed in a black suit, black tie, with his hair pushed back and bear trimmed to a scruff.

"Damn," Kayce eyed you up and down, slowly standing. "You look beautiful"

"So do you," You smirked, your comment brought a blush to Kayce's cheeks.

The two of you made your way to the small chapel the ceremony would be held in. Walking in, Kayce spotted some of his friends and waved, leading you over to one of the pews. He briefly introduced you to three of them, the two of you sitting down right when the music started.

You placed your hand on Kayce's thighs, sensing his nerves as everyone watched the wedding party make their way down the aisle. It was a beautiful ceremony, even without knowing anyone up there you still felt like it was intimate, precious, and all about being in love. You felt Kayce take your hand in his, his thumb rubbing the back of your hand as the vows were said.

At the reception

"No, but listen...see KD here was always the first one into the fucking fire!" One of Kayce's friends was explaining to you about a raid they did in some mountain, in some country, over in the middle east. "But he's always the last one out, he was like our mom."

"Your mom?" You asked.

"Making sure we were all safe before he was," The guy nodded. "He would walk through hell if it meant one of us to go out alive."

Your grip on your champagne glass tightened. Even though it was years ago, before you and Kayce were ever a thing, the thought of Kayce being in trouble, in harm's way, made your heart clench.

"Mike, don't scare her away," Kayce walked up next to you, his arm wrapping around your waist.

"Buddy," Mike laughed. "Hold on to this one!"

Mike walked off and you looked at Kayce with a small smile. He picked up on something that had triggered you though, so he pulled you closer to him.

"Nervous, KD..." You snorted at the nickname Kayce seemed to have with his buddies.
