Request: It's y/n's and Kayce's 5-year anniversary and they make plans just to go to a hotel in Bozeman for some time away, and as an extra something for Kayce, so she works up the courage to buy a Spicy✨Outfit and surprises him - it could maybe be sm*t but it's up to you.
Author's Note – This turned into sort of "smut-ish" Lol
"But I came with y'all on your anniversary trip last year," Tate whined from his spot by the front porch.
"That's because last year we were all up at Cowboy Camp for the drive," Kayce rolled his eyes as he placed the last bag in the bed of his truck, closing the tailgate.
"Oh yeah," The twelve-year-old said looking down. "Still, why can't I go with y'all?"
"Because son," Kayce bent at his waist, placing his hand on Tate's shoulder. "I want a little time with just Y/N...plus you'll be fishing with your grandpa. You love that."
"I know." Tate sighed, looking behind him as you walked out with John from inside the main house.
"Ready for a weekend full of fishing, grandson?" John asked as you walked over to Tate.
"I guess," Tate looked up at you as you wrapped your arms around him tightly. "Dad says I can't go with y'all."
"We'll do a family trip somewhere soon," You smiled down at him. "But I'll miss you."
"Yeah, yeah," Tate rolled his eyes as you kissed his cheek.
"Y'all drive safe," John waved as you and Kayce got into the truck.
It would be about an hour's drive to get to the small cabin you had found. It was built near a river, trees lining the surroundings, putting it off the beaten path and away from society. You and Kayce had been married for five years and it had been a whirlwind of a marriage. But you honestly couldn't imagine anyone else sitting in the driver's seat next to you but Kayce. You were more in love with him today than you had been on your wedding day.
"I almost said yes to Tate," Kayce glanced over at you.
"Me too," You giggled. "I get so used to him being with us it's hard for to imagine something without him."
"We need this though," Kayce reached over and held your hand resting on your thigh.
"I was trying to think the last time it was just us," You thought.
"I guess for our one year?" Kayce shrugged.
"So, we haven't been alone for two days straight in four years?" You laughed at how that sounded.
"I'm probably to blame for that," Kayce muttered.
"You always are," You smirked over at him. "But I love you for it."
"Be awkward if you didn't," Kayce squeezed your fingers with his.
Once you both got to the cabin, and after you unloaded all your things, you sat back in one of the lounge chairs outside on the wrap around porch. Kayce was currently on the phone out in the field, with work of Livestock Commissioner never truly over. But you had made him promise this would be the last call for the evening.
It had been warm during the day, but the cool evening air blew around your shoulders while you gazed up at the last bit of sunset in the sky. It was quiet around you, and you loved it.
"Sorry," Kayce walked back up the steps. "I told them not to call me again unless someone is dead."
"Why do I feel like that's not totally far off for them?" You giggled. "Or you, if I really think about it."
