Request - Y/N has just recently started dating Kayce. She is waiting for marriage and is nervous for how he might react but of course Kayce is a gentleman about it and sweet.

You said goodbye to your boss and headed out the door. It was a warm, spring night and you had finished your last week of training at the local veterinarian clinic outside of Darby. You had graduated school in Utah and made your way to Montana to help with the more rural communities. Training had been the last month, and your whole life seemed to have gotten better in the short time you had been here.

One of those reasons was leaning against his old Ford pickup truck, a smile on his lips as you crossed the street over to him. Kayce Dutton had charmed his way into your life without you noticing until it was too late. You fell hard for the youngest Dutton and his cowboy charm and wild spirit made it hard to leave him or not think about him hourly.

You met Kayce at the rodeo your first week here. He was charming but also, closed off. You had already heard of the Dutton name and seeing him with his siblings made them all intimidating. But once you turned the corner and literally ran into him...his closed off wall fell.

"Hey baby," Kayce smirked as you got up to him.

He wrapped an arm around your waist as you stood up on your toes, pressing your lips to his in a sweet kiss. The sun was setting, coating the clouds in pinks and yellows.

"Hi there," You smiled. "What're you doing here?"

"Came to take you to supper," Kayce leaned up from the truck, adding a few more inches to his height over you already.

"Little ole me?" You joked.

"You busy?" Kayce placed his hand on the small of your back and led you to the passenger door.

"I will be tomorrow," You sighed as Kayce opened it for you.

"Why's that?" He asked.

"I've got to go out with my boss to the reservation," You hopped inside and looked at Kayce. "There's some sick horses out there and they called right when we were closing."

"Res huh?" Kayce shut the door and walked around to the driver's side, getting in, and starting up to truck.

"Yeah," You nodded. "I haven't been yet...any helpful tips?"

"I don't really go out there," Kayce said as he pulled back onto the street. "What time y'all going out there?"

"I need to be back at the clinic at seven tomorrow morning," You leaned your head back and sighed, the week catching up with you. "I wish I could just sleep for the whole weekend."

Kayce reached over and placed his hand on your knee, his thumb rubbing the denim over it.

"Did you have a nice day?" You asked him, your eyes floating over to look at Kayce's profile.

"Moved some of the two-year-old calves down to get ready for loading in a few weeks," Kayce shrugged. "Nothing too exciting."

"Sounds interesting at least," You smiled. "Better than deworming tourist's dogs because they don't have any idea what can happen when you go hiking up here."

"Idiots," Kayce chuckled as he pulled into one of the diners. "This sound okay?"

You looked up and smiled. This was the first place Kayce took you to eat when he asked you out. You leaned over, pressing your lips to Kayce's cheek before unbuckling your seatbelt.

"Perfect," You smiled, getting out.

The two of you had a nice meal together, simply talking and catching up. Due to the hectic week, you hadn't seen Kayce in a few days, just simply talked on the phone which was nice...but you didn't get to see his dimples through the phone.

Y'all walked back out and you were about to get into Kayce' truck when he grabbed your hand and pulled you along the sidewalk.

"Where we going?" You laughed as Kayce pulled you down a back alleyway.

Kayce turned another sharp corner and then looked left and right before he backed up to the wall, pulling you into his arms.

"Right here..." He whispered right before his lips met yours.

Your hands went up, into his hair as Kayce kissed you soundly. Kayce tilted your head and deepened the kiss. His hands roamed around your waist, squeezing gently. When they dipped lower, cupping your ass you moaned into Kayce's mouth.

His lips were warm against yours as you pulled him tighter against you by his button down. But when you felt his fingers brush against the buckle on your jeans your breath hitched. Kayce smirked down at you, thinking you wanted it and pulled your back to him by your belt.

"Kayce..." You were cut off by his lips again.

Kayce dipped his head, his lips pressing against the sensitive skin of your neck as you tried to refocus your attention back to what was at hand. He spun you around, your back hitting the brick wall as he pulled one of your legs up his hip.

"Wait," You gasped. "Kayce...stop."

You gently pushed against his chest and Kayce immediately looked back up at you, his eyes concerned.

"What's wrong?" Kayce asked, his cheeks a little flushed.

"I-I..." You shook your head. "I'm sorry I-I can't."

"What?" Kayce asked. "Oh...no, baby I'm not gonna...not here at least."

Kayce was smiling at you but the 'yet' part in his speech still made you sightly nervous.

"No, I'm sorry," You bit your lip. "Kayce I'm..."

He dropped your leg, his hands holding your waist gently now. Kayce looked like he had now done something to you but couldn't figure it out.

"What's wrong?" He asked you gently.

"Nothing's wrong," You shook your head. "I just...Kayce I kinda want to wait...until I'm married."

It took a few seconds for it to dawn on Kayce what you were saying.

"Oh," He said.

"I'm sorry, I know-"

"Don't be sorry," Kayce smiled at you. "No...I just didn't know."

"Is that...are you okay with that?" You felt a blush creep across your cheek.

"That's fine, Y/N," Kayce cupped your cheek. "If that's what you want, then that's what you want."

"Really?" You raised an eyebrow.

The last boyfriend, if you'd call him that, you had told this to made fun of you and dropped you instantly. But Kayce was smiling at you and made the situation peaceful to you and something was telling you to trust what he was saying to you.

"It's what you want," Kayce tilted his head. "But uh...just so I know my boundaries...it's just all the way, right?"

"What do you mean?" You asked.

"Like..." Kayce cleared his throat. "Like I can still kiss you, right?"

You let out a breath you didn't know you were holding.

"Yeah," You nodded. "Yeah, kissing is okay...needed even."

"Okay good," Kayce leaned in and kissed you sweetly, his hands slid slowly up your sides. "And I can still touch you, right?"

Your lips brushed against his as you nodded your head.

"Please," You sighed, kissing Kayce again as your arms wrapped back around his shoulders. "Thank you."

"For what?" Kayce chuckled.

"Just being...you?" You smiled up at him.

"Come on," Kayce wrapped his arm around your shoulders, leading you back the way the two of you had come.
