Request - Y/n is struggling with an eating disorder and her parents are the main source of it, her and her parents have a fight, and she passes out and ends up in the hospital. Kayce's pissed and puts his foot down to her parents, and takes care of y/n.

"She's fine," Your dad said.

"She just hadn't had enough water today," Your mother added. "We've been telling her she needs to drink more water."

"Maybe we can try and let Y/N answer some of my questions?" The doctor looked between your parents before focusing back on you.

You were laying in a hospital bed back in one of the clinic rooms. It was late in the evening at this point. Earlier during dinner with your parents, an argument started between the three of you. At first it was about your first semester of senior year ending in a few weeks and you hadn't finished your college applications yet.

You were planning on getting them done, but with regular schoolwork, your part time job in town at the ice cream shop, and volunteering to help kids with equine therapy...your plate had been too full. But the arguments always start out that way and then your parents start pointing on more physical things about you.

Your hair wasn't a shiny as it used to be. Your eyes always looked tired, and you were "suck a pretty girl" you shouldn't have tired eyes. Your mom also commented how your jeans were looking a little snug. That was the line where you usually tried to block them out.

With everything around that felt like was out of your control, one thing you could control was your eating. So, you went overboard with that control and in fact, you had lost about twenty pounds over the last month...which you knew wasn't healthy, but it was something you could see you accomplished.

But tonight, when your mom said that you slammed your glass down and it shattered, cutting your hand open in three places. The sight of blood usually didn't bother you but add that to standing up too quickly and not being physically able to hold yourself up properly...you had passed out.

They brought you to the clinic and bandaged up your hand. For about twenty minutes you were back alone, resting...so you texted Kayce, one of your best friends. He was the only one who had commented on the weight loss in a concerned way. He knew the pressure you were under; he had his own pressure the two of you would talk about together. You would make up plans to run away to Texas and be Rangers under the big stars. Right now, that's all you wished you were, with Kayce.

"Y/N?" The doctor called your attention back to him. "How are you feeling now? Any light headedness?"

"Not anymore," You shook your head.

"You're a little thin for an eighteen-year-old with your height," The doctor looked at his chart. "Anything going on you want to tell me about?"

Your eyes glanced to your parents who were watching you closely. The doctor seemed to pick up on what you were concerned with but before he could say something the door to the room opened. You were shocked to see Kayce was in.

"Hey," He said to you.

"Really, Y/N?" Your mom asked with a frown.

It wasn't that your parents hated Kayce, they just wanted you with someone who wasn't a rancher or cowboy. A banker or doctor was more their hopes and dreams. Even though you and Kayce weren't together like that, you never corrected your parents because it was fun to watch them squirm...especially when Kayce's dad was in the room too.

"What are you doing here?" You asked as Kayce walked up to the other side of your bed.

"You texted me," Kayce shrugged. "Where else would I be?"
