Request: Kayce does something stupid (like usual) and Y/n confronts him about it, and they argue, while they're arguing though Jimmy or someone interrupts saying that they need help grabbing a bunch of loose cattle, so they pause the argument and help out but while they are trying to put the last couple in the pen, they start fighting again. Y/n walks away angry and Kayce throws a loop around y/n, stopping y/n from moving...you decided where it goes from there, but I think it would be cute if he really tied y/n up and put y/n over his shoulder, carrying y/n into the house.
You were trying to finish the last load of laundry before you knew you'd be needed outside with everyone else. It was right in the thick of breeding season for cattle and it was an all-hands-on deck, type of day. You grabbed a handful of Kayce's work shirts and tossed them into the washer, one dropping. Huffing you picked it up and was about to toss it in when something caught your eye.
There were blood stains on the bottom left side of the shirt. You held it closer to your face, examining it. Thinking back, Kayce had worn this shirt three days ago when he had to make a drive to Dillion as Livestock Commissioner. He had gotten home late that night, crawling into bed with you in the early hours of the morning. All you got out of him at breakfast was that it got rough with some men trying to break onto a ranch and steal livestock.
Speaking of your boyfriend, Kayce walked into the kitchen area, placing his hat on his head. He was taking the day to help at the ranch with everyone else. You looked over at him, watching his smile towards you be replaced with a raised eyebrow.
"What?" He asked you.
"You tell me," You held up his shirt so he could see what you had found. You watched Kayce's eyes look at the shirt and then back at you.
"It's nothing," Kayce shook his head.
"Don't do that," You snapped the shirt down into the washing machine. "Don't' brush me off."
"M'not," Kace mumbled.
"Whose is it?" You asked, turning around, and starting the machine. You pulled the door closed behind you as you walked over to Kayce.
"That's my shirt," Kayce said, and you felt yourself get angry.
"Not the shirt, Kayce," You glared. "The fucking blood on it!"
"Baby..." Kayce sighed.
"No, don't baby me," You rolled your eyes. "If I have to clean blood off your clothes then I get to at least ask about it."
"It really wasn't a big deal," Kayce looked at you.
"How many times are we gonna have this conversation?" You sighed. Before Kayce could answer you there was a loud knock at the front door.
It opened, before either of you could move and Jimmy ran in with a huff. He looked between you and Kayce, knowing he interrupted something, but the panic look in his eyes made you concerned.
"What?" Kayce snapped.
"W-We have...uh there's a problem?" Jimmy stuttered.
"What happened?" You sighed.
"The fence on padlock five broke and we've got some cattle loose," Jimmy looked at you.
"Loose where?" Kayce started to walk towards him, and you followed. Jimmy didn't have to answer though because when you three walked out onto the front porch you could see.
There were about twenty or so cattle scattered all over the green pastures right next to the houses. You could see a few of the wranglers already trying to rope them but the cows were spooked and had open range to run anywhere they pleased.
