Request – The Reader has a huge fight with Monica and walks away from the family during dinner. Later, Kayce finds the Reader crying because no matter what Monica won't let Tate stay with just her. Kayce comforts her.
Sort of went a little off script here but I liked how it turned out!

"I know better than anyone, I'm his other!" Monica yelled at you from her spot across the dinner table at you.
"No one is trying to take that role away from you," You sighed heavily. "I'm only trying to show how unnecessary it is,"
"There you go again, thinking you know what's best for my son!" Monica snapped.
"I'm not saying,"
"He's not yours!" Monica cried and you shut your mouth quickly. "You want one so bad go make your own!"
"Excuse me?" You yelled.
"Enough!" Kayce yelled, throwing his napkin down. "That's enough."
The dinner hadn't started out great, the tension being so thick you could cut it with your steak knife, but that wasn't unusual for all of you when Monica was there. John had Gator prepare supper when Monica said she'd stay and take Tate back with her after the meal. But it quickly turned into a shouting match between you and Monica after Tate fessed up and said you took him riding along the river this morning.
He was eleven now, plenty old enough to ride by himself with you but Monica had other ideas. She didn't like him near the river, and in doing so made it clear to you once again you were not the boy's mother. You had tried to reason with her, saying you bot where safe and had a good time, but that seemed to backfire on you.
"Come on, Tate," Monica sighed.
"No," You stood up quickly. "I'll go."
"Y/N!" Kayce called out after you, but you were already gone and walking as fast as you could up the stairs and to the bedroom.
You slammed the door, your fists shaking you were so mad. All you had tried to be since meeting Kayce, falling in love with him, moving in with him, and trying to figure out y'all's future, was try and be respectful to his relationship with Monica as the mother of his child. You had bent over backwards to make sure she was included, always involved, always had the upper hand, etc. And every time she threw it back in your face. She had her own boyfriend so it couldn't be because she wanted Kayce back...you just couldn't pin her on what the problem was.
After taking your boots and jeans off your climbed into bed and pulled a blanket over your body, nestling down into pillows. You should probably take a shower, but it now was too much effort to move again. Your body was tired, but your mind was exhausted. You didn't want to fight her anymore; you didn't want to fight her to begin with.
You weren't sure how long it had been before you heard footsteps outside the bedroom and soon the door opening slowly to reveal an equally as tried looking Kayce. Your eyes met his and he paused in the doorway.
"I can't fight anymore," Your voice broke as you spoke, and Kayce's shoulders sagged. Tears welled up in your eyes and you felt yourself slowly lose your control while Kayce shut the bedroom door and was over to you in a heartbeat.
"Baby," Kayce murmured, wrapping his arms around your frame as the tears began to fall down your cheeks. You weren't a big crier, it would have to be something huge to get you to show your emotions like this.
"I don't want to do this anymore," You cried into his shoulder. "I don't know what to do anymore."
"Stop," Kayce hushed you.
