Request: Kayce bangs out his shoulder/ mabye got shot - and is having trouble shaving and he always does it with shaving cream and y/n offers to help and they just have a really cute scene, mabye putting the cream on y/ms nose or smth!
You woke up to the sound of something dropping in the bathroom. You leaned up, seeing that Kayce was out of bed, and it was still early. Sighing heavily, you threw the covers off you, thinking to yourself you may just kill him...seeing as how he wasn't following the doctor's orders once.
Kayce had been shot last week and had been in the hospital for three days before coming home yesterday evening. He got his in his shoulder, a rouge bullet when he was chasing horse thieves up a canyon wall.
Your feet padded over to the bathroom door, and you pulled it open to see Kayce standing at the sink in just his boxers. His right arm was still in the sling he had gotten from the hospital to help with his healing. So at least he knew enough to keep that on when he was standing.
He was holding under his arm as he looked around. Your eyes looked to the floor and saw his shaving cream can rolling towards you. You bent down and picked it up, seeing Kayce look up at you with a sheepish smile.
"Uh...hey?" He smiled.
"Funny," You yawned. "I don't believe shaving was on your list of approved movements after your doctor so graciously let you come home early."
Kayce sighed as he stood back up to his full height. You walked inside the bathroom and over to the sink's counter, placing the can on it and looking up at Kayce expectantly.
"It's driving me crazy, baby," Kayce frowned.
His beard had grown too long over the past week he had been either in the hospital or recovering. While you liked Kayce with a good amount of scruff, even you were noticing it every time you would kiss him or rub his cheek.
"And just how are you gonna do this?" You put your hands on your hips.
"I've got one hand," Kayce held up his left hand.
"You shave with your right," You nodded.
"Well..." Kayce thought a moment. "Guess I was going to cross that bridge once I got there."
You raised an eyebrow at Kayce, knowing that had you not come in when you did, you were probably going to find him slicing his cheek.
"Sit down," You motioned to the ledge of the bathtub.
"What?" Kayce asked.
"Sit down and for once, let me help you," You grabbed a towel from the rack and after Kayce had sat down, you placed it over his shoulders.
"Have you done this before?" Kayce chuckled.
"I shave a lot more than you," You giggled, take a pair of scissors first. "Let me get the length to where I won't tug on the hairs."
"Maybe you have done this before," Kayce smiled at you.
You trimmed his beard, so it wasn't too long around his face and his mustache. You made sure to leave it a little shorter than where you liked it so there was some room to grow.
You sat the scissors down and grabbed the shaving cream. Shaking it in your hand you smiled at Kayce.
"Do you know how I do it?" Kayce asked.
"Yes..." You slowed the shaking, doubting yourself though.
"Here," Kayce held out his hand and stood up.
You stepped back so Kayce could look in the mirror as you squirted some of the cream on his open fingers. You watched as Kayce applied it to his neck and them along his cheeks before he paused and glanced at you.
"You want some left?" He mumbled.
"I like the scruff," You felt yourself blush like you were sixteen again for some reason.
"Alright," Kayce left his jaw portion alone and sat back down.
You grabbed his razor and bent at your waist, your hand resting on his good shoulder. But before you got close enough Kayce reached out and dabbed the end of your nose with the cream.
"Kayce!" You laughed, leaning back, and wiping it away.
"Yes, honey?" Kayce smirked.
"Be careful," You shook your head. "I'm the one with the razor."
"I trust you," Kayce leaned his chin up as
You were careful and precise with your swipes. You made sure to get a clean streak each time as you worked the blade against Kayce's skin. It was so intimate for you; you had surprised yourself with how much you enjoyed it.
Leaning back up after your last swipe you looked down at your work.
"What do you think?" Kayce asked, looking up at you.
"Good," You turned the faucet on to warm and dampened another towel.
Gently, you placed the towel along Kayce's skin and cleaned off the excess cream around it. You noticed his eyes shut as you made sure to get the dollop off one of his ears. With his eyes still shut, you leaned in and kissed him.
Kayce hummed against you, his good hand coming up to cup your cheek as he kissed you back. You pulled back and took the towel off him, setting it on the sink.
"How's that?" You asked stepping back so Kayce could stand up and inspect it.
"Thanks, babe," Kayce turned his head left to right in the mirror. "Looks great."
You reached up and rubbed your hand across his cheek and jaw, loving the feeling. He didn't look like a grizzly bear anymore; he looked like your Kayce.
"Okay," You smiled. "Back in bed."
"M'fine," Kayce eyed you.
"You're about to pass out, Kayce," You pointed behind him. "Bed. Now."
"That's what you usually say when we're about to have some fun," Kayce winked and dodged your slap as he turned around and walked back into the bedroom.
You cleaned up in the bathroom some before you walked back out and found Kayce passed out on his pillow. You pulled his blanket up and was careful of his arm, now out of the sling. Your eye caught the bullet wound on his shoulder and you bit your lip.
It had been a clean shot, through and through, but that didn't change the fact of how scared you had been when you got the call from Kayce's office. You looked over at his face and sighed, he looked peaceful right now.
You gently pushed his hair back from his forehead, leaning down to kiss his skin softly before you turned off the light in the bathroom and quietly made your way out of the bedroom, shutting the door softly behind you so Kayce could rest.
